"A little pricy but worth the extra bucks. Went on easily and quickly, and the fit was perfect. I used the no-drilling rubber blocks that engage into the stake holes, and they drew up very tight. They look quite sharp on my trick...I can't stop glancing out the window at it when I walk by! All stainless steel and very heavy duty. The large 2.5 inch diameter is exactly the same as my running board step-rails, and the combination makes for a nice head-turner! Great product!"

"I received the bed rails within a week of ordering, and everything needed was in the box (no parts forgotten). The instructions were a little confusing, but once i figured out how they went on it was a breeze. The hardest part was cutting out the holes in the bed rail covers (5.5ft bed). The rails seem to be of great quality and Look great on the bigger new style trucks. Would deffinately order from here again."

"Nice looking pipes, however, the installation directions are horrible! And I didn't care at all about the way they affix to the bed. Personnally, I would have returned them but my kid tore up the box too much to use it for return. I am surprised that a good company like Putco puts up with such terrible directions. (PS - Four of us read the instructions to include my mechanical engineer neighbor and it took us 2 hours to figure out how to affix the rails)"

"Excellent product fell in love with the boss first time i saw them. Although i had them for three weeks and could only look at them in the box, because putco decided i didnt deserve a hardware kit to attach them to the truck. Maybe soon If i'm a good boy i'll recieve the kit and enjoy my awesome rails."

"I worried a bit that the larger Boss rails would look odd on my 2007 Toyota Tundra RCSB, but they came out looking great! The large stainless rail looks really nice on the slate grey color. Installation was simple, although the bed pocket installation left the rails a little looser than I would have liked. I think a more permanent mounting design on the Toyota would work better."

"These rails are a must for the full size Ram. Anything smaller just doesn't stand up to the larger diameter wheels or overall large dimensions of the truck. Installation couldn't have been easier. I preassembled the rails and ends in my house and installed them in the stake pockets in less than 5 minutes (in the freezing rain no less.) You simply will not be disappointed with this selection."

"These were installed on an F-350 Super Duty Dually. Installation was very easy. The truch had bed caps and liner so the rubber bushing did need to be trimmed abou a half an inch. The rails are very solid and the quality is excellent. I was initially concerned that they might be overpowering but the result complements the truck very well. The grab handle also makes it a lot easier to hop in and out of the bed. Excellent product."

Putco Boss Locker on Tundra

Posted on 03/16/2007 by J.Todd F. - 2006 Toyota Tundra (El Segundo,CA)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"Great looking rails. They go nicely with stainless nerf bars. Only problem was with the install, they did not install as easily as the instructions would lead you to believe. A rubber mallet was necessary to get them into the tapered Tundra post holes. Once I managed to get them in, I was pleased with the end result."

Five Star Look, No Star Packaging

Posted on 10/27/2006 by Robert R. - 2006 Chevy C/K 2500 (Oak Island,NC)

"I recived my Putco Boss Locker Side Bed Rails three days after I placed the order, that was sweet. I wasent home when it was delivered but when I seen the box the first thing I thought was Man this thing has been kicked around" I opened the box and found that the rails had a thin brown paper raped around the tub but nothing to protect the end pieces. The rail end pieces had rubbed and hit against each other during shipping and handling scraching, denting and marking up the inside radius of the ends relly bad. I started to but them back into the box and return them but the box wasent in good enough condition to ship them back in. It was going to be a big hassel to rebox and ship them back. So, I used my buffer and some emery cloth to smoothen out the scratched places the best I could. Then I started installing the rail. When I started assembling the bolt, washer, rubber block and threaded plate I found that the bolts where not long enough to go through the rubber blocks. I had to cut the rubber blocks in half with my ban saw so that the bolts would go through and thread onto the plate. I got the rails installed with out any other problems. Now the rails gave my truck the look that I was looking for. I really like the look the bigger diameter rails give and they seem to be solid. I would rate the look the rails give my truck five stars, three stars for parts and fit and no stars for the packaging. So thats about a three star review."

"Received my rails in less than a week. Instructions are a bit confusing but I've installed pocket tie downs before so I knew what needed to be done. These are HUGE but complement the 1500 4x4 look without overpowering it. If you want to make your truck look bigger these do it!"
