Putco Locker Side Bed Rails/2007 TITAN
Posted on 01/29/2008 by Steve J. - 2007 Nissan Titan (Atlanta,GA)

"The shipping was fast as usual,to begin with. The rails were in perfect condition, but after opening and looking at the parts,I wasn't sure that they were going to fit because the stake pocket covers on my Titan's factory bed liner were 2"x3",and the "expander"that goes down into the stake pocket was only 1.5"x2" and, being a thick solid piece of rubber,I couldn't possibly see how it would work.(This is my first truck,so I'd never installed rails before.)After talking with Autoanything & Putco, and being told they'd fit,I went on and cut out the stake pocket covers,I saw that the actual stake pockets were smaller than the holes in the bed liner.I was about to return them for a different brand, but I'm glad I "risked" it and took their word for it.They look great and I love the tie downs on all four end pieces. One problem though-on Titans,if you have a factory bed liner, set the black gasket over the stake pocket cover and notice that the gasket doesn't cover the pocket covers completely.I used a box cutter but I left the corners of the stake pocket covers so you won't have four small openings-one at each corner of each pocket cover. But don't worry if you ignore this step-if water gets in them, the bed will not get wet < for tonneau cover owners. Also,if your'e a first timer like me,the tonneau cover does not need to be touched.Be very careful with the box cutter-I put a few unwanted slices in my bed liner.Overall, the rails look terrific!and installed in about 20-25min.I hope this helps bed rail vigins like me.Steve - Sandy Springs,Ga."

"The bed rails fit good and went on easy. The only draw back was the plastic collar they profide. They fit too tight and split when installed. They tell you to use a collar on the bolts and not the washer as pictured in their instructions, but only provided a washer. Little details to a perfectionest like me."

"The install was quick and easy, but there are a few problems with the product. First, If you put any pressure on the rear tie downs, the rails will pull out of the pocket. Second, I installed the rails on a 03 GMC and the bed top is so thin that even the slightest pressure will bend the metal. Overall the product looks great, but doesn't perform as advertised."

"was happy to get, install had two problems, one piece of rubber fell, had to fish out, allen wrench I had slipped and left a little scratch on cast, used another and finished fine, found rails not to be perfect, found that they turned to hide, also forgot to check another dealer before ordering, they would have saved me $40."

"3 days prior to receiving my rails,I injured my left hand and it was in a cast on the day they arrived. I had about 70% use of my thumb and index finger on that hand and was able to totally install the rails in less than 15 minutes. The new gasket system on the lockers is far superior to what they used to be. I am completely satisfied with my new locker rails and will buy them again the next time I purchase a new truck."

"I thought they were great compared to another vendor that I had first. They were easy to install and hey they fit like a glove. The first ones I ordered did not fit at all, unless I would have drilled and had some brackets made. I rate Putco number one.
They were some what higher but well worth the extra dollars. Thanks
Tom"

"I had to modify the rubber expansion block to make an exact fit for my 2005 Tundra access cab pick up. Love the rails, nice quality. Quick to install. Would have been quicker w/o modification. Many compliments on these rails."

"This is a great addition to the truck. With 1000 pounds of strength the rails allow versatility in hauling and strapping in a load. The directions called for torquing down the four bolts to 65 ft/lbs. I bought a wrench and set of allen wrench sockets to do the job, tried to be oh, so careful, and managed to strip one of the bolts. I wrote to Putco and they said I had a set of old directions and they don't advise people to use a torque wrench any more. Well duh!"
