"The Bushwacker tailgate cap looks great. I bought it because I was getting rid of the annoying "tail gate wing" installed by the factory and installing a hard tonneau with a lip that wraps over the top of the tailgate as well. The problem is that the holes and retainers forthe factory wing are really big and I was concerned that they would show even after putting the Bushwacker on. I called the manufacturer to make sure that this tailgate cap would do that- it was afterall, the entire reason for buying the piece. They asssured me it would, "depending on where I put the tape". When I got the piece, the 2 sided body tape was already on the piece. When I test fitted the cap, it looked like it would barely cover it, but cover it in any case. When I installed it, the retainer clips from the old cap peek out. So for anyone who has an 2008 Dodge Ram with the factory wing cap, you need additional 2 sided body tape, remove the tape that is affixed to the top of the inside of the cap and put new tape on the lower edge of the cap, facing the inside the tail gate. You'l get a better fit and avoid the hassle I did."

"The cap looks great and went on easily. However, I have a Leer cap on my truck, and there was not enough clearance with the cap installed to allow me to close the rear window. It only took a few minutes to grind away a corner, but that would have been a problem if I had installed it first and checked for clearance later! Once the tape grabs, it's not going to come off again easily."

"Bought this to cover damage on leased pickup before turn in, so found the least expensive one out there. I thought it would be junk, but I dropped a railroad tie on it yesterday and you can't even tell. GOOD VALUE!!"

"I have a s10 stepside xtreme which is much narrower than the regular s10 so I cut off both ends to make it fit. After getting it retaped and stuck on it covers up a mutitude scrape marks and looks like it belongs."

"Good fit, great price. Helped cover up those dings in the top of my tailgate from my atv ramps. No holes to drill, just peel and stick, doesn't get any easier than that."

"These work great, and EASY to install. Just some 2 sided tape. I had to cut off some of my existing tailgate bed liner so I could install these, but was no problem with a razor. A+++ in my book!"

"Installation was very easy -- just clean the installation area thoroughly, peel and stick. Instructions include painting procedures, though why anyone would paint something designed to protect something else is beyond me. The black color matches my Ranger's paint very well anyway. It's a good product, and seems sturdy enough to protect the finish from scratches, dings, and subsequent rusting. It didn't interfere with my Bedrug liner, which is nice too. I shopped around, and AutoAnything does have the best price on it. Thanks!"

"Excellent fit and tucks in quite nicely under my TruXedo rollup cover. My only gripe was the installation because of where the double sided tape was laid out. I had to "unpeel" it a few times before I could get the cap lined up right."

"I'm happy with the cap. the cap needs to be about 3/8" longer to cover the holes completely from the OEM cap. I used 6" wax paper over the double sided tape. This allowed me to position the cap, then pull the wax paper out for good alignment"

"The tailgate cap looks great, was easy to put on and is exactly what I wanted. I put it on during somewhat cold weather (about 50 degrees). One side of the tape failed to hold, I suspect because of the temperature. I bought some double sided tape at an auto store and fixed this problem in about five minutes. Other than this small problem I am very happy with the product."

"Very easy installation. Excellent protection for the top of your bedrails. If installing over your existing tailgate cap, there will be a small gap. Recommend removing your factory installed tailgate cap."

"The tailgate cap is a good product, shaped well, economical, and covers up existing dings and scratches well. I added additional 3M double sided tape since I felt the supplied tape would be insufficient. I made the mistake of applying tape to all 3 interior edges before attaching, and found it very hard to get the cap fully seated since the tape is very tacky and you really need the leading edge free of tape to slide the cap fully down on the tail gate. Overall, a very good product for the money."

"The Tailgate cap worked out nicely, kind of dissapointed because the Bed Rail caps didn't include the tailgate. Regardless the bedrails and tailgate look 100% better. Also once the tape touches the rail it is EXTREMELY difficult to move. I found that it was easy to remove the film over the tape with a razor blade."
