"We were disappointed at how thin this "protector" is and feel the thickness or gage should have been in the item description. It arrived with two dents from the strapping material on the box for shipping. Dented awful easy but we did get it straightened out. The black is beautiful just hope it doesn't scratch off easily."

"Mounted easily and offers some additional strength for the wimpy 08 Tundra tailgate. I had already torn up two plastic top caps, so the protector helps this part survive and offers some additional rigidity for the tailgate. It's a big piece of shiny aluminum, however, I would have preferred it to be black anodized (but then it would show scratches)."

Tailgate protected

"I run an electrical service truck and carry a 1 man lift in the bed of the truck. I was in need of protecting my tailgate from being bent when ever I pulled the 1200 lb lift off to use. With a little reinforcement under the plate (12x12x3/16" steel plate) it handles the job great. It helps to hide the reinforcememt plate and provides a smooth transition from bed to tailgate plus the diamond plating adds grip to the surface when walking on it. It will prevent me from replacing this tailgate several times from removing and loading the lift. A new taigate costs 600$, plus paint, plus installation I called to see about this option and it's no comparison. The ease of installation had most of the factory screw holes line up with the plates making it so I was able to install and not have to pay someone else to do it. Overall this item is well worth the cost which is reasonable and it looks great."

"I bought the DeeZee tailgate protector and the side rail protectors. They look really GREAT!! Quality of the product was good and they really improve the looks of my Dodge. But there were several negatives. The side rails were missing some of the installation screws and the tailgate protector had no double sided tape. I think DeeZee needs better quality control to be sure every kit is complete before shipment. Also, bear in mind these protectors are aluminum and can scratch, dent and scuff fairly easily."

"Overall this is a excellent product. My only complaint is the mounting holes are not drilled in exact locations. Some mesaging of the protector was need to get the screw started. Overall it is a great product."

"Tailgate protector not only looks good, but fit very well. I installed the 8 metal screws that came with the protector and it secured it perfectly. I'm very pleased that the order only took several days."

"I use the deezee full endgate protector on my delivery vehicle it makes for a smooth skid resistant surface to dolly stuff across also I like the way it looks I pop rivet mine on as the screws eventually work loose 20 min install clamping corners insures a good fit."

Super Duty black tailgate protector

"I've had my tailgate protector for a few weeks now and so far have been fairly pleased. It fits fairly well but you should know that it doesn't come all the way to the bottom of the tailgate (none of the protectors do for any models that I know of) and you will probably want to keep your factory tailgate cap on under it for a cleaner look. Other than that, it looks very sharp, and I'm pleased with both it and the promptness of my order!"
