The install itself was fairly easy; however, my truck was used as a work vehicle before I purchased and they treated it poorly. One of the things missing was a tailgate cap. There was two bolts welded from the inside on the top of my tailgate on my 2008 tundra. I'm not sure if it was done while as a work truck or if it came that way from the factory. I ended up having to grind them down in order for the cap to sit flush

I purchased thinking it would be the OEM tailgate cap...it is not and only covers a portion...I still needed the old one in order to make this work....Not happy with product...you need to post actual representation of product..

Although the price was fair and it is of good quality I expected it to replace the factory cover. It does not. It only covers the top and the inside of the tailgate. You still have to leave the old one on because it doesnt cover the outside holes in the tailgate from the factory cover

Well, first let me say that I originally had the impression that this cap would virtually cover the entire OEM cap. It doesn't. I was looking forward to having the black OEM cap disappear from sight. Regardless, it does look great on the vehicle. It makes for an eye catcher as the tailgate is down. I did add plenty of additional tape to hold down the piece though, cause I didn't give credit to the single piece of tape that was meant to hold down the cap. Luckily, I always have the appropriate tape on me for such an event. The cap does come with 2 holes predrilled on each end to screw into the tailgate. I thought I would need more, although, after adding the tape, it became evident I did NOT need to drill additional holes. While at first, I was disappointed in the product upon receipt, I took some time to evaluate it and made it work,....and it looks great! Thank you.

Hello Sharon. The tailgate cap only goes on the top of your tailgate, it is not available for the bottom. Hope that helps.
