Fitting your 2” receiver hitch, the XTC Cross Country Bike Rack carries two or four bicycles. With push-button ratchet arms, it’s a breeze to load and unload your bikes. The name of this bike rack should be changed to SECURE! We have 3 adult bikes & a kids bike and nothing even budges. Protects the paint on my bikes, there's no touching between the bikes except for a incidentals like tip of handlebar or bike pedals as you're loading the bikes on. The bikes can be a bit akward to load onto the rack & a 2nd set of hands is a big plus. You'll have to spend probably around 30mins the 1st time learning what the best position to load your bikes & which of the 2 top rachet holds to use for each position, but after that it's ~5mins to load 4 bikes.

After about 5 hours of research - I chose the Swagman rack. Needed one for 4 bikes. Was looking for one with no chance of bikes falling off-very sturdy and secure.Waited to review after summer with it. Went camping and used it and to an Island on the ferry with it.  Fit all frames and tires perfectly. My husband followed me on both trips said rack didn't move or sway one inch - used locking bolt. Very sturdy rack. It is heavy and takes both to put on-knew that from the get go. I have a conversion van with spare tire in left side of back door -  it cleared that. Couldn't fold up rack on car because of tire but didn't expect to. Triathalon people on island loved it. Great for long distance. Will use it on all trips from now on. LOVE IT.

I am very impressed with this XTC bike rack. I initially
intended to buy another brand but bought this rack based
on the reviews and price. Very simple assembly and rack is very solid with bikes installed. Works great on my 2008 Ford
Explorer Sport Trac with 2 inch hitch.

Assembly - easy with two people and some good wrenches.
Installation - easy with two people, It was a little tricky to install the hitch pin and get the thread started, I tried from the other side and it was easier, second person is good to help you jiggle the unit around in the hitch to get better alignment.
Operation - Perfect! Just finished a 10 hr trip with 4 mountain bikes, really easy to load the bikes and lock down and it rides like a champ on my 08 tacoma double cab.

I love this bike rack. It carries all types of bikes with ease. It makes taking the church youth group on bike trips easy. its sturdy reliable well made. I highly reccomend it.

Great bike rack.  Easy to assemble, easy to attach to the hitch, and easy to load the bikes.  Does not sway or bounce, and all the straps keep the rims tight and in place.

I was looking for a 4 place bike rack and looked all over at different racks. I came across this rack and read the reviews and thought for the price I could not go wrong.
I can say without any problems this rack is the best rack I have owened out of four major brands of racks. Even my friend who has four place rack said it was nicer than his.
I'm very pleased with this envestment.

With a family of 6, my wife and I were always concern with scheduling an entire day to take the family bicycling.  We did this because of the loading and unloading process.  We always plan to ride with our children and even with having a minivan and a truck, the process was challenging. We decided to take a trip this spring and had the crazy idea of taking the bikes (6 in total).  To do so, we thought it would be easier to do the trip in the truck, since I had room for 6 and had a tonneau cover on the bed to keep our belongings safe and dry.  For a couple of weeks, my wife and I researched hitch-mounted bike racks over web by reading reviews and studying the design.  We ran across this Swagman XTC 4 and thought it was the best choice out of the many that are available today.  We like the cradle design and we are sure glad we choose it.  It worked like a charm, even driving at interstate speeds and over bumpy roads. The racket hold-downs are so easy to work with and they make sure nothing moves.  This is one of the best purchase decisions that we've made in a while and definitely do not regret spending the money on this item.  If you want an effective and secure bike rack that can accommodate up to 4 of just about any type of bike out there without having to purchase additional accessories, then the Swagman XTC 4 if for you!
