This is an excellent very stable bike carrier. The carrier is very easy to install on the vehicle. Once adjustments are made for your bikes, you can load and unload your bikes very easily. I recommend this product.

I bought the 4 bike rack first. Took it with another couple on a bike trip in PA. Loved it so much that sold my old 2 bike rack and bought this same rack in a 2 bike unit. Easy to load and unload and keeps the bikes safe even on rough back roads.

This is a great bike rack! I no longer have any safety/security concerns when moving my bike. The only problem/issue I have ran into is the use of my tail gate. I have a 07 Hummer H3 (which the tailgate swings out like a door). The tailgate also holds my spare tire. I am unable to open my tailgate with the bike rack installed. My spare tire/door will not clear the rack. I wish they made it to tilt away, then this would be the perfect, affordable rack!

Just put this together last night---EASY--then I "practiced" putting my 2 bikes on it that also was EASY--only took two tries to see which way my 2 bikes fit the best--a total of 10-15 minutes---my previous purchases were the type of bike rack that your bikes "hang" from never could get one to fit the bike frame like this does-just wish it had a locking pin for the hitch---all in all good purchase

I have friends that own other brands of the same type of rack. They paid more than double for each of theirs. This rack is great! it has a slight uphill rise as it goes back to avoid rubbing the ground leaving parking lots etc. Holds bikes from my daughters little 12" to my full suspension mountain bike with ease. Awesome rack, can't be beat for the price!!

The Swagman XTC Bike Rack is very well built and fit the receiver hitch with little wobble. It was very easy to assemble and holds the bikes very secure. Only time will tell how long the rubber straps that secure the wheels will last. Folds down to a small package for storage.

The swagman is build strong and adjust to fit our bikes great with little movement. Even when bikes are not in the rack it doesn't bounce around or stick out too much. I have no concerns traveling on our cross country trip with bikes on the back. Deffinently work the money.

How much weight can the XTC Cross 4 bike carrier hold? I'm wondering if it's strong enough to carry 4 DownHill bikes?

With the Swagman XTC4, you can remove one of the tire hoops and carry 3 bikes. One of the vertical locking hooks also can removed. This option give you the capability of carrying 4 bikes, though. Also, I would not put it on a Civic. I tried the Thule Raceway 9002 and it pulled my trunk out of alignment. It only had 2 bikes on it. The bikes never swayed at all, but I had to get the trunk hinges replaced so rain would not leak in. Thule paid for it. They are a great company.flag Accept Answer
