I have been extremely pleased with this bike rack. It is a very solid unit and hold the bikes very steady while driving. Only comes with one Key though.

Only issue I found was I have 31 inch tires on my 94 jeep wrangler so I have to buy an extender. Other than that its the best bike rack I seen or used.

I feel that the actual bike rack is very good. The problem that I have is that only one key was sent with it. When I tried to have the key copied at both at a well equiped hardware store and by a lock smith they were unable to locate a blank that would match up. This is frustrating for me. I suggest that you send at least two keys with these bike racks. Thanks, David

I have been looking for a tire mounted bicyle rack for for a few months. After carefully researching possibilities, I decided on Surco OSI. Other mounts were less expensive but I made quality & safety my priority. I purchased the 3-bike rack because it appeared a bit "tight" to hold two trail bicycles. It is serving us well. The mounting bracket was not a perfect fit for our Honda CRV but it did mount firm and secure.

Robust and relatively easy to use. Has a key to secure the bikes to the rack and a lock whole to secure the rack to the car. On my Honda CR-V the tire being placed asimetrically one of the bikes hangs to the outside of the right of the car by a foot.

Rack works great. Very easy to install. You will need an adapter to attach most full suspension bikes though.

The OSI Spare Tire Mount 3 bike rack does a fine job of holding bikes in a secure fashion. The bikes lock into the rack, which is locked onto the tire support (with a padlock the user must buy himself--I found a nice weatherproof MasterLock). My only concerns are(1)that there is only one copy of the key that locks the bikes onto the rack -- if this key is lost the entire system fails and some work will be needed to cut the bikes out; (2)I can't find an outfit that can copy the "Euro Locks" key provided -- so I can't make myself a second copy; (3)The total weight of the rack, the tire and my two off-road bikes is around 125 pounds: my CR-V's rear door hinges are much more massive than its side door hinges, so I am not too worried, but I wish I knew what weight was too much, and I doubt I would carry three heavy bikes on this rack (4)I wish bike removal was a bit quicker. Despite these concerns, I greatly appreciate the security provided by the sturdy construction and the locking capabilities: I wouldn't want to risk my bikes (or the safety of other drivers) on anything less secure.

Great for my first bike rack

Since I've never had a bike rack before, I cannot compare this to other experiences. It installed easily enough, I did need another hand at one point, but it was fairly straightforward. I am a short woman and yet find that I can lift the bike on and off without much trouble. I feel secure with the 2 locks - one on the rack where it mounts to the car and one where the bike sits. It does wobble slightly in the junction between the vertical bar and the horizontal bracket that extends from the tire. It seems easy enough to put a stunt in there. I have left it alone for now and it is not an issue so far...figuring that may be the design, having some play. We'll see. Happy with the rack!
