I purchased this bike rack for my motorhome which I tow a vehicle behind. I needed one that provide adequate clearance for the towed vehicle. I could not be any happier. Bikes are secure, easy to access, and plenty of clearance for the towed vehicle. With the rack folded and stowed, the tow bar folds up around the rack while still on the motorhome. Thanks again for a great product and can't beat the service you guy's at Autoanything provide.

The quality and ease of setting the Swagman XC Bike Rack/ Bike rail far exceed my expectations. Ths is my first experience with Racks that attach to your towing hitch. I have had roof racks that cost 3 to 4 times more than this set up. Great value.

Very pleased with the quality of this bike rack. Great qualify, assembled easily. I can install the rack on my vehicle and load the bike without a problem. So unlike my Thule roof racks. Stable when driving. Did use foam tubing on bike rail at point of contact.

I read all the details and reviews and thought the unit was set up to tilt downward to allow my rear door to open. No way! And yet the advertisement said it needed 14" clearance to the road to work correctly????? I have to take it and the bikes out of the receiver in order to get my back door to open all the way.

Fast shipping and easy assembly on the rack. Carries 2 bikes nicely and safe. Gives me more room in my little sport wagon over putting them inside. Better than having them overhead exposed to low clearance issues. Very affordable hauling system.

How is this rack different from the XTC-2? And how can it fit two different-sized trailer hitches?
Answered by Nathan S. — Mar 19, 2013 8:24 AM
Hi, The XTC is a much heavier built product sized for a class I/II hitch with a 1 1/4" receiver but includes a sleeve to go up to a 2" receiver.

I do plan on purchasing this rack but was curious as to what hitch lock would be compatible.

Can bikes be locked for safety at night when traveling across country?
Answered by Nathan S. — Jul 30, 2012 11:43 AM
Hi Ron, While the bikes are secured to the rack, it does not have an anti-theft locking mechanism. I would recommend using a traditional bike security system in concert with the bike rack.

would you recommend this rack to be mounted to the back of a travel trailer
Answered by ken y. — Apr 26, 2012 9:14 PM
My camper does have a 2" receiver mounted to it for this purpose. I see that some racks are not recommened for the back of campers .........ken

Hi Ken, this is a trailer hitch bike rack that fits 1 1/4" or 2" Class III receiver mounts. There is probably not one of those on the back of your trailer.

Will this bike rack fold down to allow access into the cargo area of the cabin?
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jul 10, 2012 12:19 PM
Hello David! Yes, the Swagman XC 2-Bike Rail folds up for easy storage on or off vehicle. You can fold down or take off the top arm as well, as there are removable pins securing each arm of the frame. Thank you for your question.
