Description

At the start of a long journey or the end of a dusty trail ride, the Thule Hitching Post Pro 4-Bike Rack is a welcome sight. Rather than having to hoist your cycles onto the roof, the Hitching Post lets you rest up to 4 bikes in comfortable saddles for simple, secure transportation.

Those soft saddles are Thule's innovative new T3 cradles. They're padded to protect your paint from scuffs and vibrations. Adjustable top straps fit snug against most any frame. And, the T3 cradles safely grip your fame tight for stable hauling. It's the T3 cradles that set this Thule rack apart from inferior competition.

The Hitching Post's arms are adjustable up and down to accommodate a variety of bikes, and they fold flat when empty. Thule includes a tie-down strap for that extra snugness your bikes require on a long ride.

The Hitching Post fits 1¼" and 2" receivers and has a 140 lb. total capacity. Plus, Thule covers your Hitching Post Pro 4-Bike Rack with a Lifetime Warranty.

Bike Rack Review

Posted on 01/24/2008 by Eric P. - 2005 Toyota 4Runner (Cape Coral,FL)

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.

"This hitch is really sturdy. About the only thing negative is at 1st it's hard to figure how to put multiple bikes on & which ones go on 1st. If you have bikes with different type frames. (Example ones with shock absorbers) it can be a little tricky getting the bike on & off. It would be hard to fit 4-bikes on the Rack. I use 3-bikes on it so that way I can space them out & not scratch them up. But over all I would recommend this rack to anybody."

Clearly sturdy

Posted on 07/17/2007 by Philip F. (Canaan,NH)

"Well-engineered and solidly made. Would give it 5 stars if they could make it just as strong but lighter weight - it's surprisingly heavy, so not easy to tote to and from your car. Strong and too heavy is better than light and too weak, but the bike manufacturers have figured out how to give us the best of both."

perfect bike carrier

Posted on 06/05/2007 by Rick R. (Blue Bell,PA)

"This bike rack is just perfect. The quick release joints make it a snap to fold down the bike carrier part as well as the vertical tube (in case you needed to get into the bed area). The only way this could be better is if you got the better model that has the built in lock."

Versatile but heavy

Posted on 09/11/2006 by Jonathan R. W. (Morgantown,WV)

"We like the way the rack adjusts to different bike frames and holds the bikes well clear of the exhaust pipe (hot exhaust fried a tire on a bike held by our old Subaru 2-bike rack). However, the Thule 4-bike rack is heavy for my wife to install or remove assembled, and disassembly adds a needless complication, so our old rack (now wrecked) was better for her spur of the moment bike outings."

Pretty good hitch

Posted on 08/25/2006 by Joseph S. (Bronxville,NY)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"3 minor problems with this hitch: 1. it is a bit difficult to get the first and second bikes on the hitch, the hitch scratcfhes the bikes up a bit, bot once the bikes are on they're not going anywhere. 2. the hitch also has an accessory which allows you to gain access to the door of your truck, the only problem with this is that the hitch does not fold down all the way, sao the door cannor open all the way if it swings open to the left or right. 3. smaller childrens bikes are very difficult to strap on the hitch In all the hitch is very sturdy the hinges are easily opened and secured, the bikes once on the rack are secured very sturdy by the straps"

"The rack is easy to install and very sturdy. The only difficulty encounterd is placing some bike's with non- conventional frames can be difficult and time consuming. All-in-all our biking experience has greatly improved."
