Thule Raceway Trunk Bike Rack Customer Reviews

First, there was the wheel. Then came sliced bread. Now, there's the Thule Raceway Trunk Bike Rack, the greatest thing to happen since, well, sliced bread.
What sets the Thule Raceway Bike Rack apart is its revolutionary new fastening system. Four ratcheting Sure-Tight cables grab hold of your ride, providing a firm foundation. Then, you simply snug the cables down with a twist of the FitDial for a perfect fit. Plus, the Raceway's thick, molded rubber pads grip your ride and deliver extra hold. Together, this system keeps your Thule Raceway fused to your trunk, so you never have to keep an an eye on your rear view mirror worrying that your trunk bike rack might bounce off off.
And, you never have to fret about your bikes banging, bumping and rubbing into your trunk because the Thule Raceway is equipped with anti-sway cages. These two-stage cages connect to both your top tube and seat tube for rock-solid stability. For serious security, the Raceway includes a lockable cable to protect your two-wheelers from bicycle bandits. What's more, your Trunk Bike Rack comes in either a 2- or 3-bike configuration. Both are built in the USA and include a Lifetime Warranty.
Our 10+ Thule Raceway Trunk Bike Rack customer reviews have an average rating of 4.50 out of 5 stars. To see specific reviews about your vehicle, please select your year, make and model from the drop down above.

An absolutely fabulous bike rack!:) I was in need of a carrier system that would accommodate my car size and have a locking system. The Thule Raceway serves those requirements and more! It is extremely easy to handle, convenient, takes 5 minutes to attach or remove. Nothing negative to say. I do have to open the trunk with a key, because the weight of the bike rack doesn't allow the latch to release. But that is no big deal.:)......what did we do before automatic latch release? :):)

I bought this rate specifically since it said it would fit a Lexus RX. It does not. The upper clips does not fit into the upper edge. I have used it on my wife's Subaru and it worked really well. But unfortunately that wasn't the target car. :(

So far i'm very happy with this rack! Its very sturdy and secure, i've taken it on the interstate once, and my bike was not bouncing around at all, I had no worries about my bike slipping off like i've had with much cheaper racks. Its expensive, but worth what you pay!

I shopped a few weeks before settling on this rack since it was going on my brand new car. I wanted an easy on/ off rack that would have a good solid fit and leave no marks or evidence it had ever been on my car once taken off. This rack fits my needs perfectly. I have had this rack for 6 months and it was on my car everyday for at least 4 months of the 6. Traveling to and from work 80 miles each day with and without the bike this rack held up perfect. I highly recommend this bike rack.

This is a very well designed bike rack. I put it on my new BMW 328i and no problems.. My only complaint is that you must open the trunk to install the lower hooks. It is also a bit heavy.

The Thule triple trunk rack holds your bikes so well that you can almost forget it's there! Easy to put up and use, top quality materials and excellent design. No glitches with this rig!

Set up was very easy; really like the cables that tighten easily instead of straps that typically fly around while driving; the locks are beneficial; the rack and bike don't move, even going over railroad tracks; looks great too. Highly recommend.

Can this rack be used for a ladies bike? Do I need to buy the straps (that are optional) in order to use this rack?

Hi, A ladies bike will fit fine, with the back tire sitting higher in the air. The locking straps are optional but not required.

I'd like to get this product but I'm afraid that I would change cars ( from a sedan to a SUV) and the rack will not be good to use on the SUV. PLease advise. Thanks, Martha S
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Sep 07, 2012 2:47 PM
Hello Martha. You're right, the bike rack is not likely to work well on the SUV. It is a very good quality though, so you could always sell it when you buy your new SUV (with which a hitch mounted rack would work nicely) and still get a good amount of money back. Thank you for your question.

Can you tell me if this rack will safely fit on a 2006 Subaru B9 Tribecca? I would love to purchase it but want to make sure it will work appropriately with my vehicle.
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 22, 2012 2:39 PM
Hey, The Thule Raceway Trunk Bike Rack, like most bike racks, are universal racks. They are not custom made for any vehicle. The manufacturer does not have a list of vehicles they recommend it will fit best on. It is designed to fit all vehicles with proper adjustments of the straps and hook systems. It should fit your car, but since it is universal I cannot specifically say it will be perfect on your car. Thank you for your question.

I would like to get some more info about a Thule Raceway Trunk Bike Rack. Is it possible to put it on a car Free Lander 2 2012 Land Rover? My car has got the parking sensors and the spoiler as well. Can it be adaptable for every kind of car? Thanks in advance for your kindly reply. Best regards.
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 15, 2012 2:37 PM
Hello, The Thule Raceway fits many different vehicles. My only concern on your vehicle is the straps that go to the top of the door. Since the straps would go over the spoiler to the top of the door, once you tighten the straps down, it might put too much pressure on the spoiler and damage it. Thank you.
