For a summit-busting way to haul your two-wheeler, reach for the Thule Apex Hitch Bike Rack. Capable of carrying up to 5 bikes, this burly bike rack is perfect for all of your cycling adventures. It boasts advanced innovations like RDT Cradles™ that secure your bike while absorbing road vibrations and a No-Sway Cage™ to prevent bike-to-bike contact. So, your bike arrives at its destination primed to tackle toughest trails.
To take the hard work out of hauling, the Apex bike rack folds down fast for quick and easy access to your gear. And, the fast-attaching clamps make entry easy on your bikes. That means more time spent tearing up the track and less time muscling your bikes in place.
What's more, the Thule Apex hitch mount bike rack boasts integrated heavy-duty locks to stop thieves from burgling your bikes. And, it features a Snug-Tite™ receiver hitch lock to prevent theft and eliminate hitch rattle. As if that wasn't enough, the Thule Apex bike rack fits both 1 1/4" and 2" receivers, is built in the USA and is backed by an unbeatable Lifetime Warranty.

The rack was easy to assemble (minor assembly). Installing in hitch wasn't awkward. Loading bikes was the biggest challenge but that's because of the bikes, not the rack. Well engineered and the family looks forward to our next bike location. Used on 2014 SILVERADO and tailgate can open enough to get backpacks or other stuff while rack is fully loaded.

It does what it says it will do, which can't be said for most products you buy based on descriptions and reviews. Easy to install, partially preassembled. I paid up for this model to have the built in hitch lock and bike lock cable which I highly recommend. Instructions advise against swinging away from vehicle with bikes loaded, but isn't this why you buy a swing away hitch? It's heavy fully loaded, but most men should have little trouble. Higher quality than what I expected.

Able to install in about 20 minutes with only one person. Bikes loaded with minimal difficulty. Female bike required a little maneuvering over the rack. Easy access to the rear of the SUV that requires two hands. Safe and secure ride for the family's bikes.

Used the bike rack right out the box to haul two road bikes on a 700 mile road trip. Rack holds the bikes securely and the hitch connection holds the rack to my truck extremely tight, not allowing any play. I did have to remove the portable air pump from my bike to attach the anti-sway cage but this was just a minor inconvenience. The locking cable was an especially nice addition as it allows us to leave the bikes unattended while on the road. Thanks AutoAnything.

Few quick comments: PROS: very easy to install, feels very stable, you can carry 5 bikes, good price CONS: fitting 5 bikes is a little bit tricky and will require some practice. Other than this, we are really happy with the rack. We will recommend it to a friend.
