Got this bike rack at a great price plus it is a solid made piece of equipment. My complaints are that it comes with a bolt to lock the bike carrier to the tow hitch and that mountain bikes are very difficult to load on the positions closest to my Jeep. Fortunately today I only had to carry my mountain bike so I put on first position. For the price of this rack Thule should have included a locking hitch pin and should have made the arms on the rack closer together so all mountain bikes fit.

The 9030 is GREAT...But...just be aware you must use the included "bolt" to tighten the rack to the hitch receiver. No pin, just bolt. The bolt keeps the rack from swaying side-to-side. A necessary evil, I guess. Overall the rack is sturdy. I have yet to put 5 bikes on, but I believe it can handle it.

Good stable bike rack at an affordable price. The rack does not stick out too far from the back of my rig, and the pivot drop is great for getting into the back. Smaller triangle frames are a tight fit, and you will likely pinch a finger or two if they go further back. I have fit three adult MTB quite comfortably every other rung, but 5 ... would be pretty mashed in - if they fit at all (Road bikes no problem). Not for DH bikes.

The Rack works well, is very sturdy, easy to mount, etc. Getting 5 bikes on here is pretty tight though. The handlebars of one bike poke into the tires of the bikes next to it,etc. I've put 4 on it, and it a tight squeeze, not sure if I'll be able to cram 5. The mounting brackets slide along the rails, which is good, so you can try to leave space between bikes where necessary, but you have to be a bit creative when putting a bunch of bikes on here.

I recently purchased the Thule Vertex bike rack which holds up to 5 bikes. The design and build quality are excellent. It supports the bikes well and is built rock solid. The easy fold down mechanisms are really nice and allow me to open the tailgate of my Honda Pilot. Thanks Thule and autoanything.

I love my new bike rack after looking at several manufacturers and styles. I went with the brand and style a family member recommended. I love how solid the frame is and the ease of getting into the back of my suv with the rack loaded up with bikes. The only thing I have found that concerns me is that when I have loaded multiple bikes, they seemed to rub up on one another. Maybe it is my unfamiliarity with the contraption itself, but I think there is just that little bit of space that is not there between channels. Overall, an excellent holder and height coming off my hitch for easy loading and unloading.
