Needs a 2" receiver. I had a 1 1/4" tow. My only complaint was I wish this was communicated.

The rack is perfect for our needs. It allows us to carry our two bikes and any potential bikes of visitors or friends. We like the fact that it will swing away from the car body. It makes it so much easier for us.

Really Swinging

I had looked at this bike rack at a bike shop priced for much more than I paid for it at Auto Anything. The Rack is exactly what I wanted, slightly heavy for a bike rack, but the hinges and swinging mechanism needs to be a little on the beefy side to handle the extended bracing. I'm very pleased.

Just what I needed

It was what it advertised. I do wish the description was more clear with things that you had to purchase that didn't come with it, like the hitch lock. However, the form, fit, and function of the rack is exactly what I needed.

Swing away feature is wonderful. Well built.

I recently added a receiver style hitch to my Kia Sedona. In addition to a ball mount, I was interested in a hitch bike rack. I required a rack that could hold four bicycles. I considered the swing down style racks, but they did not permit full access to the rear of the van. The Thule Vertex Swing 4 Bike (Model 9031) allows the bikes to swing completely off to the right side of the van. It is solidly built. Pros: * Solidly built * 4 bike capacity * Full access to rear Cons: * Some bikes need adapter The con is common for all hanging style racks. Ladies and other bicycle designs that do not have a straight top bar will most likely require the purchases of a separate adapter in order to hang it on the rack.

Makes it easy

After borrowing a couple of different racks, we settled on the really expensive Thule and are glad we did. It is an easy rack to install and secure to the hitch, and it doesn't require an extra person to help. The joints and pins are well constructed and easy to manipulate. The bike cradles are well designed. This rack is a big jump up from the basic but makes it easy for me to be ready for a bike ride anytime the kids want to go.
