Swagman XTC Cross Country Bike Rack Reviews

swagman XTC bike rack

I recently purchased the Swagman XTc bike rack. I find it so easy to put on and off my hitch, and love how quickly I can load the bikes on and secure them. My only concern is where it fits in my 2" hitch is quite loose, and rocks some, I may try a shim to fix this, but am loving the bike rack.

Thule 916XT Bike Carrier

Reviewed By Roger M (Nixa, MO) Reviewed for a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan —8/26/2010 5:58 AM

This is an excellent bike carrier. Bikes are protected, secure, and you can put them on and take them off in a flash. I guess the only drawback would be the application and removal of the carrier itself to/from the vehicle. It is heavy (50 lbs.)and requires a wrench. So if you don't want to drive around with it all of the time, it becomes a pain to put on and take off. You should ask yourself a question about how much you are going to use it. I use this carrier primarily for long distance transport of my bikes, and a lighter hitch mounted bike rack (frame hang) for shorter day to day use. The price of this carrier is a little steep too, but I am still pleased with the purchase.

Van Rack

Reviewed By Jason C (Menomonie, WI) Reviewed for a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan —7/19/2009 4:09 PM

This seems to be a great rack. Used on a 300 mile round trip this weekend. I was a little leery on the rubber straps holding the full trip. So I used a couple of staps also. Figure better safe than sorry since bikes don't just grow on trees. Seems to be sturdy even on the bumps. Had a little issue with how I was going to mount my 6yr olds bike on. Ended up just using one side of the mount. It is great how it folds down and can still open the back of the van to get things out. Would I buy another one. Sure would.
