Saris Freedom Spare Tire Bike Rack Reviews

Best rack for a spare tire, fits two bikes.

Reviewed By David K (Hoschton, GA) Reviewed for a 2004 Honda CR-V —8/5/2014 4:22 AM

Sturdy, well made rack. Fits two 29er bikes. weight is a bit on the heavier side but not terrible. I like the way the bike straps to the rack with one strap at each of the two wheels and one more strap on the frame down tube. Holds the bike very well. Once you have the tire trays spaced in the correct position, it is very quick to load and unload one or two bikes. Took about 30min to assemble and fit the bikes to the rack. The rack uses a mounting plate that bolts behind the spare tire.

Great Bike Rack!!

Reviewed By Bruce M (WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA) Reviewed for a 2010 Honda CR-V —8/20/2013 12:14 PM

I bought two of these racks to transport our road bikes and I am very happy with the product. It comes out of the box ready to attach to the roof-top crossbars. Installation instructions were simple. Both units were sent keyed-alike which makes key management easy. The bike rack is very sturdy...you won't be disappointed.

Rack is Long, but Solid

Reviewed By Benjamin R (BATAVIA, IL) Reviewed for a 2013 Honda CR-V —5/15/2013 12:24 PM

The rack is basically everything I expected in terms of quality. Holds the bike better than I expected. One major negative it that the rack is too long for my factory installed Honda CRV Crossbars. Its fits the crossbars perfectly, but when you attempt to open the rear door, it hits and rack and doesn't allow the door to open. Solution is to turn the rack backwards (Yakima Customer Service Proposed Solution).
