Softride Access Dura 4-Bike Rack Reviews

Once mounted, those bike aren't going anywhere

Reviewed By Christian O (WEST ORANGE, NJ) Reviewed for a 2012 Honda Odyssey —9/18/2013 6:24 AM

I installed a hitch and bike rack to my van, and the bike rack install was fairly straightforward. The installation can be a little tough because it is quite heavy and the rubber straps are tough to pull/stretch. My socket wrench also was a little shallow for the installation of the top plate, so I had to get a deeper one. This all means the product is solid. While it's a little too heavy for many people to slip it on and off often, it means the rack is quite strong.

Works as intended (2008 Nissan Pathfinder)

Reviewed By ELIAS M (LOUISVILLE, KY) Reviewed for a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder —9/16/2013 5:57 PM

It does what it says it will do, which can't be said for most products you buy based on descriptions and reviews. Easy to install, partially preassembled. I paid up for this model to have the built in hitch lock and bike lock cable which I highly recommend. Instructions advise against swinging away from vehicle with bikes loaded, but isn't this why you buy a swing away hitch? It's heavy fully loaded, but most men should have little trouble. Higher quality than what I expected.

Better than the Thule or Yakima equivalents

Reviewed By Chuck L (Milford, CT) Reviewed for a 2011 Volkswagen Golf —9/16/2013 5:43 PM

This was recommended AND on sale (bonus) and when compared to the rest it's just better. It is made in the US as far as I know, not China, and its built to last. Relatively theft proof too. It has a pedal clutch you depress to swing the unit down. Easy as pie.
