Thule Apex Hitch Bike Rack Reviews

SOLID - Exceeded Expectations

Reviewed By KURT P (LITTLETON, CO) Reviewed for a 2006 Lexus GX 470 —6/26/2012 10:38 AM

Was always concerned about the stability, durability, and reliability of bike racks for my SUV and a bit held in check on purchasing a bike system. Was alos concerned about the "ease of use" in putting the unit on and taking it off when not required on the car. All concerns were eliminated with the Thule APEX. Found it very easy to set up (first time) and easy install/uninstall on the car are a snap. The locking dial on the frame and locking unit to secure the bikes to the carrier are very accessible and reliable. With the straps, alignment and cushioning, for the bikes on the rack, there is minimal movement and vibration. The tilt feature works great on moving the installed unit to get access inside the car as well as dropping down the bike mounts when not is unse. Amazing how may comments I have had from neighbors and other travellers seeing the Thule attached to the car; all very impressed (and it is impressive looking).

Surco OSI Folding 3 Bike Rack Reviews

OSI folding bike rack

Reviewed By Tricia J (Amsterdam, NY) —6/26/2012 5:35 AM

the bike rack is very sturdy and easy to use. I was very dissapointed that the rack did not come with a pin to hold it into the hitch. so we will have to go buy one seperate. Havent been able to use it yet because there was no pin included. I must of missed the NO PIN INCLUDED message when I bought this item.

Softride Dura Hydraulic Assist Hitch Bike Rack Reviews

Excellent family bike rack for rear hatch

Reviewed By Tim M (Windsor, CO) Reviewed for a 2012 Ford Explorer —6/25/2012 10:21 AM

Hello, We have used this now on our 2012 Ford Explorer for a few short and long trips. The rack is sturdy and can easily hold 4 bikes. The hydraulic assist which allows the rack to move away from the rear hatch is convenient for both loading the bikes and for providing access to the rear. The locking mechanisms for both the bikes and the rack itself are great ideas in case you leave your car out overnight or just go into a restaurant for a meal. Loading the bikes does take time, but that gets better after practice. We have a couple of smaller kids bikes which don't exactly fit the bar settings but you can use the tie downs creatively to attach them to the rack. There are plenty of tie downs which come with the rack to give you options on how you load your bikes. Overall, exactly what we wanted.
