Swagman Quad Platform Bike Rack Reviews

Swagman Quad 2+2

Reviewed By Johnny C (PALO ALTO, CA) Reviewed for a 2006 Nissan Xterra —10/25/2014 11:26 AM

I am looking for a new bike rack for 4 bikes. A similar Thule or Yakama rack will cost me around $700. Quad 2+2 cost me about $450 so I decide to take a chance on this one. Another selling point of the Quad 2+2 is I can use it as 2 or converted it to 4 bikes. The box came in weighing 98 lbs, heavy. Solid build right out of the box. Instruction to put the rack together is terrible. I basically put the rack together by looking at the picture on the box. So far the rack works good.

Thule Gateway Trunk Mount Bike Rack Reviews

Solid Built and Sturdy Enough

Reviewed By Eric B (Weeki Wachee, FL) Reviewed for a 2015 Nissan Versa —9/15/2017 8:26 PM

This is my third Thule rack, the other two being a receiver hitch type used on an SUV and a roof rack. I wanted something moderately heavy duty to get my bikes to the bike trail without having to worry about dropping them in the road. This rack is solidly built and mounts like every other trunk rack, but I wouldn't trust it for long trips, at least not without stopping and checking it frequently to ensure the straps remain tight. That being said, I think the rack provides good value.

Kuat Transfer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Reviews

awesome rack

Reviewed By Amy W (Emporia, KS) Reviewed for a 2008 Dodge Avenger —10/27/2017 6:32 AM

Bang for the Buck the Kuat Transfer is hands down one of the best out there. I looked at several brands in this price range and this stood out above. Really easy to put together and install on my hitch. Seems sturdy and has an optional locking system for not much more money that I like. It folds up to the vehicle nicely when not in use. I can get my trunk open with our without bikes on it.
