Softride Access Dura 4-Bike Rack Reviews

A great choice in bike racks

Reviewed By Frank F (Lafayette, IN) Reviewed for a 2014 Toyota RAV4 —9/23/2014 1:14 PM

Sturdy rack for 4 bikes and allows easy access to lift gate on RAV4. Rack is heavy, not a spontaneous install/ ride thing. Not for use with small frame bikes. Youth mountain bike barely fits. Have a 2" hitch so not using the 1.25" adapter. The adapter is inferior to the way Yakima's spacer adapter works and would add another 15lbs or so. Big + is all straps/locking cable included. Wish the rack arms could pivot down instead of being removable, but is OK trade off for the swing action.

Perfect rack for all our needs

Reviewed By Nancy R (Potlatch, ID) Reviewed for a 2012 Toyota RAV4 —7/21/2014 6:17 AM

After much studying of all the bike racks out there, we found this one to be perfect. We have new "Electra Townie" cruiser bikes. One of them has fenders and both are lady's style which made most of the racks available not work without adding an adapter bar. This rack works with both our Pick-up and our Rav4 that has the spare tire on the back. It is super easy to install and load the bikes on. We couldn't be happier!

Looks good so far - 3 bike model

Reviewed By Don B (OAK RIDGE, TN) Reviewed for a 2008 Toyota Highlander —5/15/2014 6:32 AM

I picked this one based on a suggestion from autoeverything. So far I think it is a good combination of features for the price. Capacity is 35lbs/bike. Max speed 65 mph. The carrier is very easy to "assemble" and install on a hitch. The bars that hold the bike only lock into one position (as shown in the photo), they are not adjustable and are plastic - keep your receipt for the lifetime warranty. Get a cable lock to secure the carrier to the hitch to prevent theft. Tilt feature is fine.
