I use this pad for transporting mountain bikes with my Toyota Tacoma. I was initially looking at the Dakine pad, but opted for the Softride after reading some favorable reviews. This pad is pretty easy to install and fits perfectly on my truck. The material seems quite strong and there is enough padding to protect the tailgate from damage. I've transported 3 bikes with plenty of room for more. I think I could easily get five bikes on there. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase.

The system was so easy to install that I used in within minutes after I received it. I recently purchased news bikes for my wife and I and was concerned about the straching potential from other racks. Both bikes fit a good enough distance apart that I can load both bikes into the bed of the truck stand in between the bikes to secure them on the rack. And I'm doing this in the bed of a Toyota Tacoma. I even have enough room to place the child trailer, in the folder configuration, in the bed of the truck. The bikes don't budge once properly installed in the rack. The other factor was security. Once in the rack, I chain the bike together and place the front wheels inside the vehicle as a deterrant. (They would have to break into the truck with alarm to get the tirees.) The locking bar is more secure than I first thought, an added plus to this system. Overall, I highly recommend this system for tranport and security of the bikes.
