Thule Raceway Trunk Bike Rack Reviews

I can't say that I have a lot of experience with any bike rack. This is the first one that I have bought, however I did a lot of research. I wanted one that was easy on/off and would lock onto the car and lock the bikes. This one does it all and there is only 4 straps. Goes on/off in less than 30 seconds. Bikes on/off in same time. Truly wonderful!

Yakima KingJoe Bike Rack Reviews

Reviewed by Philip G (Canal Winchester, OH) Reviewed for a 2008 Acura TL — 2008-08-08 04:48:11

I just purchased a new car and was very concerned that a trunk mounted bike rack could scratch the paint. I did a little research and selected the Yakima King Joe. When it arrived I was a little dismayed at assembly required. To my suprise, the unit assembled very simply and mounting it is quick. Its design make it almost impossible to scratch the paint. Overall I am very impressed with this unit and would recommend it to any one interested in a trunk mounted bike rack. AutoAnything's web site was very easy to navigate through, their pricing was quite competitive and their e-mail updates lets you know the exact shipping status of your order. I would definately consider purchasing products from this company.

Thule Raceway Platform Trunk Bike Rack Reviews

Reviewed by Stephen P (North Canton, OH) Reviewed for a 2006 Scion xA — 2011-05-03 04:25:28

I bought this rack in the hope that it would work on my high racer recumbent bike. Stick-type recumbents like mine are notoriously difficult to rack and not having a receiver hitch on my car, my racking options were limited. I ran across the Thule Raceway Platform while net surfing one day and was intrigued by the unique design. It appeared to be just what I needed, so I decided to give it a try. It turned out to exceed my expectations. The rack is beefy; if not a little heavy. The new cable type mounting system is convenient, easy to install and quite secure. The rack fits on both my small hatch back and my wife's mini-van perfectly due to Thule's adjustment system. Most importantly my bent fits perfectly. I would highly recommend this rack.

Allen Bike Racks Deluxe 4-Bike Trunk Carrier Reviews

Reviewed by Prasanna U (Edison, NJ) Reviewed for a 2000 Honda Accord — 2008-04-19 14:28:55

The rack arrived in a fairly tattered package. The installation instructions are more a hindrance than help. However, once I figured out the installation, things definitely became easier. I installed it on a Honda Accord. Though I have not carried 4 bikes on the rack yet, I did carry 2 adult bikes on it. It held up nicely. The quality of the material seems pretty good.

Allen Bike Racks Deluxe 2-Bike Trunk Carrier Reviews

Reviewed by stephen g (Whitefish, MT) Reviewed for a 1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse — 2007-08-06 21:08:23

I used a Allen Bike Rack on my Mitsubishi Eclipse to carry my mountain bike from Whitefish, MT to Redmond, WA. and it was the scary thing I ever experience. I've never used the rack before, or any bike rack for that matter. The rack came right out of the box and onto the car. While going down Lookout Pass, one of the straps broke and if I had not had a bungee cord as backup, my bike would probably had came off the car right there on I-90. Also, the rack rocked sideways back and forth, so I had to drive very slow with one eye on the bike rack and one eye on the road. And on top of that, I had to disassemble part of my bike just so that it would go on the bike rack properly. It wasn't until I bought extra bungee cord and rope was I able to drive at the speed limit and with a little more faith that my allen bike rack deluxe 2 might stay together long enough for me to get to my destination without losing by bike or killing some one. Every time I stop, I had to inspect the bike rack, and each time I was amazed the rack was still intact because the metal parts that the straps ran through were so thin and feeble looking. If I had to recommend the allen bike rack to anyone, I wouldn't recommend it for long journeys.
