I had to drill holes for all of the bolts. It took about 2 hours to install and required a drill, wrenches, ratchet and screwdriver. The original grill had to be removed from the truck. I would not recommend for a novice. The final assembled grill really classes out my truck.

The threaded studs that are captured by the chrome surround of the original part of the grill are subject to being torn out because the provided nylock nuts are too tight on these studs. The solution to this would be to supply the proper tap in the kit or at least inform the customer of this in the instructions. Also the small screws to be threaded into the vertical bars are impossible to do without first tapping the inside of the bars with either the proper tap or at the very least strong cap head screws with the same thread. The pictures provided could also be larger and clearer. Having said all that, the finished job has been admired by all.

The instructions were not real clear on this, but there is only one correct way to position these for installation. The correct position, per the picture, is to have the thick border on the bottom and the thin on the top. The five interior grill inserts went in with a "click". The extreme left and right grill inserts were more challenging since part of the jeep's interior framework was obstructing the insert. However, with pressure they both went in OK. Hopefully, over time they will remain attached. They look great and should afford some protection against the elements, bugs, rocks, etc.

The product is nice with the ends having a beautiful turned inwards finish; this I really thought was good craftmanship. The horizontal bars are welded to vertical bars that are also stainless which takes away from the the horizontal appearance. I got some flat black paint and a small paint brush and painted the vertical bars. This should have been done at the factory and why I did not rate this higher. $80.00 would be a fair price for this product.

Really makes my 03 Avalanche front end pop. It would have been nice if there was an exact picture of the exact grill on my vehicle, because the same grill looks different on other websites
