Description

Let's face it: most brake pads squeal like a stuck pig. And, there's nothing more annoying (or embarrassing) than hearing that ear-piercing shriek, especially in stop-and-go traffic. For whisper-quiet brakes that still deliver an aggressive grip, get your hands on a set of EBC Ultimax Brake Pads. These direct replacement pads fit like stock, but they're miles ahead of any factory brakes.

Keen engineering is what makes your EBC Ultimax Brake Pads so silent. Their beveled edges and factory-fitted shims turn down the volume on you brake pedal. Plus, the chamfered rim fights off edge lifting to block against corrosion and pad-separation.

Even better, your EBC Ultimax Brake Pads' special blend of synthetic and metallic fibers gives you smooth braking, a firm bite, and extended life. There's even a unique Break-In surface coating for near instant bedding, and the center-line slot stops heat cracks. EBC also covers your Ultimax Brake Pads with a 12 month/10,000 mile warranty

Notes

  • It's always best to use the same compound in the front and rear, but if budget restraints prevent that, use this guide:
    • When using original brake pads on the front and replacing the rear, it is recommended to use a set of Ultimax Brake Pads.
    • When using Ultimax Brake Pads on the front and replacing the rear, it is recommended to use either a set of Ultimax or original brake pads for the rear.

I recommended these for an install on a friend's friend's older model Acura TL. He had a low budget and was thinking of putting cheap brakes from the local brick and mortar auto parts stores. I seriously objected to this suggestion but understood his budget limits. Fortunately though, these Ultimax pads (and rotors) were just under his limit and after having installed Green Stuff, I figured it would be better than the cheaper pads. Once installed, he was back to loving his Acura TL and keeps raving about his NEW brakes. This is his 3rd time replacing the front brakes (high mileage car) and he feels it's the best feeling brakes ever since new. I think EBC has a real winner with these brakes for a budget to mid-price brake replacement. I will definitely recommend these to the next person looking to save money on brakes and still get decent performance!

Back to new brake feel. Easy job, rotors were in great shape, and Toyota dealer wanted $280 for the job. $65 and a couple of hours is all it took to be good as new!

The Ebc brakes were easy to install and I immediately noticed the difference in my cars breaking system, for best results the Ebc rotors are best to have along with the Ebc pads.
