Low dust, super quiet. Wonderful brake pad.

I've recently wore out my stock rotors along with a set of Greenstuff EBC pads. After doing some research and reading nothing but great reviews about the Hawk HPS pads, along with numerous other Audi fanatics running the same pads, i purchased the Hawk HPS pads (front & rear) as well as 4 drilled rotors from Centric. The entire setup for this car ('92 Audi S4) was ~$400, including shipping. I imagined i'd feel some improvement in braking over the EBC Greenstuff, so after installing (just the pads takes about 15 minutes per wheel. The entire swap took ~3hrs in my garage) i went through the bed in process. 6-10 light stops from 30mph and 3 hard stops from 60mph. With the bed in process complete, i did my first brake test and was amazed at how much better the braking feels. The feramic material is far superior to the EBC pads. On dry pavement i was able to engage the ABS system. Something that was hard to accomplish on the EBCs. The pads make a low hum sound on hard braking but nothing that's noticeable unless you're listening for it. There is no squealing or vibrating of the pads within the calipers. So far, i have noticed that the HPS pads give off a lower level of brake dust than the EBC Greenstuff pads. At this price point and braking power, i will definitely purchase these pads again. Todd

I have 67,000 miles on my stock rotors and pads they needed replaced I went with the hawk sector 27. I drive back roads and over mountains, at a spirited pace the rotors seem to do the job and help prevent the spungy feeling the stock pads and rotors would get after a day at the track and seem to do very well for normal commute.Drive a focus st with lots of performance work done to it.
