SSBC Drum to Disc Brake Conversion Kits Reviews

Topcat

Reviewed By Tedd C (Winter Springs, FL) Reviewed for a 1966 Chevy Nova —6/27/2011 2:58 PM

Kit seems to be very well made. I have one wheel installed and am working on the other. Haven't tackled the booster yet, but seem straight forward. Have a very small issue with the installation instructions. When installing the brake pads - it says to clinch the rear pad to the caliper - not sure what was meant by clinch and would like clarification on where the spring thing goes..but besides that - good instructions.

Definitely $1000.00 worth of extra stopping power.

Reviewed By Frank A (Charlotte, NC) Reviewed for a 2008 Chevy Silverado —4/7/2015 3:22 AM

I have a 2008 Silverado Service Truck. It weighs between 10,500 and 11,500 depending on what I'm carrying. Being 3-4000 over the factory GVW it's like trying to stop a train. I already had Hawk SD pads and slotted rotors which helped and were well worth the money but still wasn't enough for an emergency stop. These calipers made a HUGE difference. I'll be doing the rears as well when finances allow.

New brakes for the old car

This pads actually seem to rejuvenate all you car brake system, get big brake stop power with your stock setup. They do dust, but thats the way if you want to stop!
