Wanted a good controller without all the bells and whistles

Reviewed By Jason S (TWIN LAKES, WI) Reviewed for a 2014 Dodge Caravan —10/5/2014 5:20 AM

I've always used Tekonsha brake controllers. They're the top rated but I just wanted an inertial brake controller with a digital display but without all of the extras since I'm only going to use it for a single axle camping trailer. Through all my internet research the Primus IQ was the one to get.

Works well with Power slot "frozen" rotors

Reviewed By Christopher L (Lake Grove, NY) Reviewed for a 1997 Dodge Caravan —2/13/2009 8:56 PM

I've had these on my van for a few years now, they work well as replacement pads when used with the PowerSlot rotors. When they are new, they are slightly noisy, but after they break in for a few miles there is absolutely no problem with any noise. I'm using them on a Caravan that is way under-braked right from the factory. When I first installed them, I was stopping slightly short of the intended stop. That alone was enough evidence that they are way better than stock brakes. They do seem to wear out a little quick, but it's a minor price to pay for the improved performance. Overall I would have to highly recommend them to anyone that drives somewhat aggressive.
