Great street pads good for track day

Reviewed By John F (Orfordville, WI) Reviewed for a 2004 Ford Focus —1/27/2015 6:12 AM

I have an SVT Focus that occasionally gets open-track-day time and auto cross. Tire and toe setting changes are all that's needed to transition from street to track with the HPS pads and premium rotors. They warm up quickly and grip confidently when brakes are mashed. On the street the HPS pads are silent and easy to stop gracefully in traffic. I'll keep getting these.

Hawk Street 5.0 Pads

Good pads but for autocross you need to bed them in racer style. The instructions on the box won't cut it. Have only run them one event so will know more later when the weather heats up. You need to really heat them up with a few hard stops and then let them cool for an hour. They glazed and smelled until they were cooled and then were great the second day on course.

Much better stopping power for less than Factory pads!

Reviewed By Chris B (lexington, KY) Reviewed for a 2010 Toyota Tundra —4/19/2015 2:02 PM

Installed both F&R on a 2010 Tundra. They were less expensive than going with OEM Toyota Pads. With running other Hawk pads on weekend racers, I'm was expecting a little added noise, but am happy to say they don't make a peep. Braking distance has also decreased, and pedal feel is solid. If you are doing this on a 2007+ Tundra on the front, make sure you buy the hardware kit! If you have never removed the caliper pins, get ready for some added fun.
