There are a lot of brake pads out there. I have a car that is fairly heavy (3700 lbs), w/300 H.P. I do not race or drive wildly, but when I wanna' stop, I WANNA' STOP! I put the Ultimax pads on a set of new front rotors on my '99 Lexus, and have (so far) put 200 miles on them. What I was hoping for was stopping power as good as the brakes that were on the car when I bought it at 50,000 miles. I don't know if they were OEM or not, but they sure stopped me on a dime! Unfortunately, (at least one of) my rotors warped, giving me a shimmying vibration. Well, even though I have yet to really stomp on 'em, because I'm still in the break-in period, already I know they are AT LEAST equal to what I had. The instructions say they will get better (!!) after break-in and bedding. Hard to believe, but I'm driving patiently, bedding them in as suggested. You never know when your life will depend on your brakes, and, esp. for the money, I do not hesitate to recommend these! After extensive studying of info on the internet, I chose slotted (but not drilled) rotors for the front (from another website). I've attached a picture, just 'cause they look so good together, but you really can't see the brakes inside the caliper . . . . just use your imagination!
