EBC Sport Rotors

Reviewed By Todd F (Schuylkill Haven, PA) Reviewed for a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse —11/23/2010 5:46 AM

I recently took my car to get inspected and learned that I needed new front brake pads. I had put a set of Hawk pads and EBC slotted rotors on about two years ago and had loved the improved braking ability. (I drive a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT.) I decided to try a set of EBC Green Stuff pads this time and found they also had a great response when the brakes were applied. With the new pads on we noticed that the rotors were warped so I replaced the slotted with a pair of EBC Sport Rotors. The new pads and rotors are great together and solve the problem of braking as being the one big flaw of the car. The only thing to see now is how durable the EBC pads and rotors will be together compared to the mixed set of Hawk and EBC I had last time.

Good overall

No installation problems although they failed to include instructions on breaking the rotors in. Other than that looked good and stop well. I have them paired with posiquiet pads and stops quickly with even pedal travel. Not grabby. Push hard stop fast push light stop slow resulting in good feel. Stops slower than with ebc ultimax on similar rotors but way less brake dust. have 1000 miles on them so far.

Well worth the upgrade

Reviewed By Todd F (Schuylkill Haven, PA) Reviewed for a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse —11/21/2008 9:38 PM

I slapped these slotted rotors and some improved pads on my Eclipse GT. I had already done a very small amount of work on it, and was impressed how it never felt heavy due to acceleration or handling. It would, however, feel quite heavy at times when slowing it done or bringing it to a stop. The new rotors and pads completely changed that with the braking now matching the acceleration and handling. I would also have to mention that if you're not going to be racing on a track or replacing your rotors pretty frequently you're going to want to go with this type of slotted rotor over the ones that have the circular holes between the curved slots. I've heard those rotors can develop cracks between the circular openings.
