StopTech review Audi A4 1.8L turbo quattro after 100 miles

I was very skeptical about these brakes. After being satisfied with Hawk brakes, minus the noise, I thought I'd give these a try. Stoptech brakes perform better than any other brake I have ever tried. I installed them myself with the old Audi rotors which seem to be in good condition. Initial bite with cold brakes are excellent, no noise, and best of all, fade resistance is better than Audi original equipment and the hawks I replaced them with. I thought for sure there would be more dust generated from threse pads but my wheels actually look cleaner longer. No complaints other than not having tried them sooner.

Thought they would be better!

Reviewed By Gary C (Citrus Springs, FL) Reviewed for a 2003 Chevy Silverado —2/1/2012 1:43 PM

I suppose it is early days yet, I will have to see if the situation improves. I purchased these and paired them up with new Baer Decelera Rotors. So far, having completed the bedding in process as instructed, I am experiencing loud squeling when I apply soft pressure. In hard braking conditions I would rate these as excelent but I am dissapointed at the squeeling. Maybe it will improve. There is another thing that pisses me off, the anti-squeel pad they get you to stick to the viewed side of the brake pad is black and it detracts from the color of the pad.

2004 Buick Rainier never stopped better

Reviewed By Dennis B (SAN RAMON, CA) Reviewed for a 2004 Buick Rainier —1/30/2012 10:06 AM

I changed the front pads and noticed such an improvement in braking that I bought the rear pads as well even though the originals were still OK. Stops are smooth and noiseless. I'm sure the brake dust will be less as well. Good product.
