Hawk EPS on 2000 Sienna

Reviewed By scott s (Vancouver, WA) Reviewed for a 2000 Toyota Sienna —4/22/2011 2:58 PM

The brake pads put on by my local tire chain did not stop well. I wanted to fix this, so chose the Hawk HPS pads based on a few reviews. They definitely stop better than the generice ones the chain store put on. They have better initial bite, too. I'm in a cold wet climate, and these things are important for safety. After being parked outside on a wet night, the brakes squeel a bit on the first & second stop, but are quiet after that. I can't say that these are better performance pads than other performance pads, but they definitely stop better than what most shops want to put on as "standard". Putting front pads on a Sienna is a breeze. The caliper holders don't need to come off. Just undo one bolt, and they swing up. Out with the old pads, in with the new, and away you go. If your old pads are well worn, you'll need to remove some brake fluid out the top of the reservoir, so it doesn't overflow when you push the piston back.

Hawk rotors and pads install

Reviewed By Kenneth C (Nederland, TX) Reviewed for a 2008 Toyota Tundra —12/26/2017 11:38 AM

I have a boat and a trailer I pull but haven't had occasion to see how they work while pulling. With that said, it seems as though fresh factory brakes are back. I did a few short stops after I wore them in a bit and they worked well. I would recommend these, but I'm not absolutely sold on the premium price for the name brand. Value is questionable. I haven't noticed some miraculous difference in the stopping power, but they definitely get the job done.

Wrangler JKUR

Reviewed By Jeff A (EVERGREEN, CO) Reviewed for a 2013 Jeep Wrangler —1/16/2018 8:22 PM

I decided to put heavier pads on the Jeep since I do mostly mountain driving, since these are made for trucks/SUV's figured will increase braking in more severe conditions. Only have a few hundred miles on but seem to be doing the job, no noise nor dust that bothers me. I do wish for the price paid that spring clips had been included. I lost one during install and had to buy a full package at a autoparts store.
