Hawk rotors and pads install

Reviewed By Kenneth C (Nederland, TX) Reviewed for a 2008 Toyota Tundra —12/26/2017 11:38 AM

I have a boat and a trailer I pull but haven't had occasion to see how they work while pulling. With that said, it seems as though fresh factory brakes are back. I did a few short stops after I wore them in a bit and they worked well. I would recommend these, but I'm not absolutely sold on the premium price for the name brand. Value is questionable. I haven't noticed some miraculous difference in the stopping power, but they definitely get the job done.

Nice Rotors

Reviewed By Michael N (Knoxville, IA) Reviewed for a 2008 Toyota Tundra —12/1/2015 6:15 PM

I went with the Cryo treated slotted rotors, because of the towing I do. They were easy to install. My concerns are these; 1. Rear rotors are painted where the e-brake shoes run, not sure if they are supposed to be or not, but others I have seen are unpainted in that area. 2. The edges of the slots are sharp, I would think if there was a slight bevel it might cause less wear to the pads, once again not sure if this is a big issue or not. I'll just monitor the pads for a while to see.
