Your brakes play a vital role on your car. When you need to stop on a dime, it’s important that your brakes are up for the challenge. If you know how to install brakes, you can save yourself a lot of money rather than paying high dealership or auto shop prices. Simply browse our virtual shelves, choose the brakes you want, and continue reading for easy installation instructions.

Helpful Tips

If you had the kind of dad who personally did all the wrenching on the family’s fleet of vehicles, you were probably forced to help out with any of the two-man jobs, like bleeding brakes. Which means you endlessly pumped the brake pedal while the old man bled the system. Well, thanks to the Phoenix Systems brake bleeding tools you can bleed an entire brake system in minutes, with one person.

Installing Your Brakes

After you’ve chosen the best brakes for your ride, you’ll want to make sure you’re prepared for your do-it-yourself brakes installation. First, you’ll want to remove the tire from the car. Then, you’ll want to compress the brake caliper’s piston and disconnect the brake caliper. Remove the old brake pads, and then prepare the rotor for the installation of the new parts. You’ll want to clean rust and corrosion off the guide shim perches and grease the caliper everywhere it connects to the rotor. Next, install the new brake pads by sliding them into the guide shims and putting the springs back on, and then mount the brake caliper back in place. It’s that easy—in no time at all you’ll have your new brakes installed and ready to go…and stop.
