When 1945 rolled around, the Ramsey company designed and built their first front-mounting winches for passenger cars and pickups. These early Ramsey winches drew power from the crankshaft and were perfect for pulling vehicles out of mud and snow. The demand for Ramsey winches grew feverish by 1949, and they were selling faster than flapjacks in Saskatchewan.
