DashMat was born in the punishing furnace known as the Arizona desert in 1979. A wily US Air Force retiree noticed vehicles driving around with rags and towels draped over their dashes to protect them from the scorching sun and envisioned a better way—DashMat. He tinkered endlessly to find the perfect material for DashMat that cut glare, reduced heat and looked great. After finding this ideal material he added a latex backing for a snug fit and the first DashMat was born.
