    Really only for looks

I purchased this because I know that EGR does a good job with "no drill" installations for their window vents and hood shields. Most others want you to apply their 3M tape to your vehicle's finish. Only problem is that on my 2016 JKU, the center plug that accepts a screw is undersized and hence not very stout, whereas the outer two plugs are. Additionally - and to be honest - there is no difference in the number of bugs impacting my windshield after installing this hood shield.

Dark smoke color on a dark gray truck, almost unnoticeable. I bought it more to protect the paint than for a bug shield. Works good, looks good, and covers the whole front end.

    Bad fit, poor hardware

We tried to install on a 2016 Ram 1500 - we ended up returning and getting the AVS one. The inclued hardware did not fasten and the whole unit seem to not fit correctly and would have ended up damaging the truck and we feared it would fly off.

    Two person job

I discovered that I couldn't screw into the pop-ins and hold the shield in place by myself as the pop-ins started to spin and came out of the hole they had been in. The end clips were extremely difficult to slide onto the edge of the hood. I had to get a small mallet to hammer them on which made me concerned about scratching the paint on my brand new truck. Finally the fit of the shield forces you to have to slam the hood extremely hard in order to close it, which I read in other reviews.

    Better than expected

The package arrived on time, I opened the box expecting to see a cheaper type product, Iam very happy with the rigid, dark, solid color, not smoked, hood wrap. The install was easy, the clips on the friction tape was the hardest part. ToOk approx 10 mins
