The Griot's polish and wax kit is simply an outstanding value. You cannot get a better machine for the money, and the spiral bound book which in itself is of great quality, tells you everything you ned to know about detailing a car or motorcycle. I would recommend this kit to everyone.

Very good machine & excellent polish plus wax. Have purchased this wax & polish before from Griot's. Purchased several items from Griot's & not just cleaning products. There location is about twenty miles from my home. Been to several of their shows in Planfield, Indiana on how to use their products & have purchased products also at the same time. Was just waiting for the right price & you had what I needed at the right time & everything was delivered in excellent condition.

I did some research on the internet decided on the Griot's Garage Orbital Machine Polish & Wax Kit thinking that the kit would provide the basics for a first time detail of the wife's new vette. However reviewing the instructions and video it seems the starting kit only provides about half the items required to perform a new vehicle detail, such as the number of pads for the buffer. Feel that I now need a second purchase before I can attempt a detail, and therefore have used the products at this tme.

I had never used a machine polisher before. With everything in the Griots Garage kit, I was able to get started and see results on my Mustang right away. The Detailers Handbook included in the kit is very helpfull. The Griots machine is very easy to handle and works great. The Griots products in the kit all work really well. After the kit purchase, I ordered the Griots microfiber/foampad cleaner and acouple more of the orange foam pads. Thanx

The unit itself feels solid and has 6 speed selections (2-3-4 for waxing and 5-6 for polishing). The handle is adjustable and the backplate consists of hook and loop, aka velcro, which makes attaching and removing foam pads very easy. The instructional video provides insight on how to use the orbital buffer as well as the various polishes/waxes available. After using the unit on 2 vehicles, I got a good feel on making the directional passes, although there is a fair amount of vibration so expect some tingling hands by the end. I felt the Machine Polish 3 was ok on removing very minor swirl marks. I did have to use another manufacturer's ultimate compound to remove deeper swirls and surface scratches. I used the paint cleaning clay along with the speed shine after washing the vehicles, and noticed it did pickup small contaminants that were not removed during washing. Even just using the Machine Polish 3, the finish looked bright. The real shine came out after using the Best of Wax. I let the wax sit for a couple hours, then removed with a microfiber cloth. It definitely required some elbow grease to remove the wax, and in the end I used some of the speed shine to help with the removal. Once the wax breaks down, I will probably pickup their sealant and try that before the winter season.
