Description

Coverking scoured the globe for 15 years, seeking a mill that could make the perfect all-weather car cover fabric. The result was the Stormproof Custom Car Cover, in both name and performance. With an unconventional natural weave of microscopic yarns made exclusively in a small location in Japan, Coverking has achieved a cover nearly impervious to rain, snow, ice and extreme sun.

What’s even more amazing, the Stormproof Custom Car Cover fights all of the elements without needing any chemical treatments or coatings. This means your car cover performs the same great paint-protecting duties for years—not months. And, the tight weave is still highly breathable, allowing all trapped heat and moisture to escape.

As if there weren’t enough features for one fabric, the Stormproof material is completely paint-safe. Plus, the cover is extremely lightweight for ease of handling, folding and storage. Your Stormproof Custom Car Cover comes in a host of solid and ual-tone colors and is backed by a 2-year warranty.

Worked perfectly during record snow fall

Posted on 02/15/2006 by Susan T. - 2001 Volkswagen Jetta IV (Montrose,NY)

"Opened my cover on 2/12/06 in time for our record 26.9in. snowstorm (Yonkers, NY), it worked perfectly. My 2001 Jetta was completely covered in snow. While everybody else had to deal with scraping snow and ice, I simply shook the cover and the snow slid off like an egg in a teflon coated cooking pan. The finish was untouched. Thank you"

Very nice cover for my Boxster

"It took a lot longer for the item to arrive than I expected but it finally arrived in tack. I ordered the Stormproof cover with the storage bag and locking cable options. The cover fits extremely well and is very easy to put on and take off. Storage is a breeze. The the seam containing drawstring on the storage bag tore the first time I tried to tighten it. One call to the customer service number was all it took. A new bag is on its way to me at no charge. The cover is competely waterproof and keeps the car dry."

worth the money

Posted on 02/03/2006 by Joseph H. (Hinesville,GA)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"I was a little skeptial about spending this much money on a car cover, but after having it on my convertible for a few weeks, so far it has been more than worth it. It has done an excellent job of keeping water off the car and letting the area it is covering breath. It has rained, and snowed and the cover has done a great job of letting the moisture evaporate quickly."

Awesome!

"I ordered this cover for an '87 300ZX. I've owned a couple of Evolution 4 car covers before this, so I've got something to compare the StormProof cover to. Quite simply, the StormProof cover is well worth the money (especially at AutoAnything's low prices!). The fit is PERFECT and TIGHT, with minimal seams. I left it on the Z during sustained 30mph winds and rain, and it didn't budge. Don't expect this cover to be waterPROOF; I don't think there's any such thing with breathable fabrics. That being said, the StormProof cover is magnitudes better than Evolution 4, as only a small bit of water seeps through some of the seams (mainly in the mirror pockets). And it prevents a common annoyance you'll find with other covers: condensation that manages to form underneath them on humid days/nights. The StormProof cover is very light, and a bit slippery on your car's surface as you put it on, but not so much that it's impossible to put on in a light to moderate breeze; and like I said: once it's on, it's not going ANYWHERE. Another thing I like about it is that it doesn't leave dust all over your car. The material and seams appear to be very sturdy, which bodes well for a long life. One last thing: I wouldn't recommend this cover for ding prevention; it's just not thick enough for that. Overall, I am EXTREMELY happy with this cover, and AutoAnything's prices and service!"

The perfect winter protection

Posted on 12/24/2005 by Linda W. - 1986 Honda Accord (Cascade,MD)

"We ordered a StormProof Car Cover for our old Honda hatchback - not easy to find! It fits perfectly, even having little pockets for the side mirrors. The day after we coverd the car we had snow with a coating of ice. A week later we inspected the car under the cover; the ice and snow slid off easily and the car beneath was dry. One essential factor in our choice was the the "breathability" of this cover, and there was no condensation on the metal at all. We are very pleased with this product, as well as with the service from AutoAnything, who helped us choose exactly the right cover."

BG's Z3 Car Carcover

Posted on 12/13/2005 by Robert G. - 1997 BMW Z3 (Wallingford,PA)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"The StromProof car cover fits my BMW Z3 like a glove -- the mirror pockets were perfectly positioned; however, I was disappointed that I had to punch the hole for the antenna grommet. A truly “custom-fit”car cover should have provided an option for the antenna hole. You’ve got to be REALLY careful about positioning the antenna hole – follow the old rule… measure twice, cut once! Btw, I would suggest affixing a small piece of duct tape to the inside of the cover when punching any holes in the fabric in order to add some support and prevent the fabric from accidentally tearing. The cover has performed reasonably well in all weather conditions. While it does a good job shedding moderate amounts of rainwater, torrential downpours do penetrate the fabric, but only slightly. I would recommend using a bungee tie to secure the center grommets under the car and prevent the cover from blowing off. Despite the great fit, I found that sustained winds of 35 mph or higher were too much for the cover without a tie-down. The fabric provides excellent protection from snow and sleet. It does feel a bit brittle in sub-freezing temps; but so far, I have found no evidence of tearing or cracking. My son has an “official” BMW car cover for his Z3 and indicated that he likes the fit and performance of my StormProof cover better than his. Overall a good value – I hope it lasts for many years."

Good Fit and Finish

Posted on 12/03/2005 by William P. - 1997 Jaguar XJ6 (Carlsbad,CA)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"I purchased this for a 97 Jaguar XJ6L which is slightly longer than an XJ6. However it is supposed to fit. I have used it for a few weeks now, the cover installs easily enough. It is very tight though from the mirrors back. I do believe if they elongated the mirror pockets about 4 to 5 inches it towards the front it would accomodate the XJ6 and XJ6L better because there does seem to be just enough fabric. I put this on by my self and using my technique I can install it in about 2 minutes. I havent tried it in a strong wind just light breezes. It is very waterproof. I cover my car every day. The problems I have is how to dry the cover from the morning dew or rain. Also when I remove the cover and roll the cover up after folding the sides in, I invariably get some of the outside moisture on the inside cover which contains dust and windblown particles making the inside of the cover dirty and now wet when go to put the cover back on. Obviously the car is'nt getting as wet as having no cover at all especially living fairly close to the ocean, so the finsh is being protected. The cover is very well made, and shows excellent craftsmanship."

Satisfactory, but not great.

Posted on 11/28/2005 by Phil W. (Rockville,MD)

1 of 2 people found the following review helpful.

"Overall the cover is satisfactory. I don't hate it, nor do I love it. It just didn't quite meet my expectations. They make a big deal about how this cover has less seams than other covers, making it more durable and eye-pleasing, but I actually find it to have many more seams than I thought were even possible. The most infuriating seams are the two that run down the full length from front to back on the top of the cover. They look bad, but more important than that, they leave a strange trail on the car when I remove the cover. I'm guessing it has something to do with moisture seeping through the seems and then just sitting there unable to escape. These trails appear as smudges down the hood. Not easily removable, but they don't seem etched into the paint either so maybe just needs a thorough wash to get them out, hopefully with minimal rubbing. The other somewhat disappointing feature is the very snug fit. Hoping it will stretch out some over time, but two weeks in, it is still extremely tight and hard to get down over either the front or back end (depending on which end is the 2nd one being covered). Also, the lower part of the side of the cover tends to ride up. It doesn't stay down all the way covering as much of the wheels as you'd like, but that's not a real big concern. On the positive note, I can say that the material seems good, both inside and out, although it does let larger amounts of water in through the seams on top of the cover and by the mirror pockets. In two weeks the cover has been through a moderately soaking rain, light snow, moderate to heavy winds (sustained wind above 20mph, with gusts above 40mph), and frost below freezing temps. The cover has stayed in place, and seems to disperse 95% of precipitation. It doesn't fold up very well. Seems almost stiff when I remove it. The weight of the cover is medium. There are heavier and there are lighter covers. In moderate wind, it will be hard to place the cover on the car, but most covers will be hard to install with a modest wind. Just don't expec"

Posted on 11/20/2005 by Sally P. (Winslow,AZ)

"This StormProof Car Cover seems to be very fine. I will know more later when the wind blows 50 mph, as it often does, and when it snows and rains. So far none of this has happened, but I love this cover anyway, and am sure it will perform satisfactorily. The cover fits my MiniCooper perfectly. It is easy to put on and take off and to store. It is light weight and silky to the touch. I will write again if it disapponts me in a strong wind, however it is fastened down with a cable and lock, so I hope and expect top performance."
