The Director of Operations will manage our dynamic group, consisting of an inbound Contact Center, Sales, Purchasing and Logistics departments. This individual will have the leadership and integrity that will continue to build our high quality vendor relationships with our internal and external customers. The Director of Operations must have strong technical and analytical skills, the ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment and able to oversee numerous projects plus a staff of 50+ employees. This individual will be responsible for managing and motivating a call center sales and customer service teams toward peak performance. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated a successful track record with a known or a substantial dollar volume company of exceeding revenue quotas and generating sustainable growth, as well as developing our core value of world class customer care and managing top performers in several departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer Service

  • Customer Service Experience, Retail and e-Commerce
  • Responsible for the establishment and projected Contact Center service level goals
  • Establish and maintain internal and external service level agreements with the business units and its impact on the Contact Center
  • Identify, establish, communicate and forecast Contact Center performance indicators
  • Build and strengthen Contact Center’s high level of Customer Service
  • Ability to interpret real-time activity and make adjustments to improve overall efficiencies

Sales

  • Develop, implement and monitor individual and team sales targets and goals
  • Generate and maintain key performance metrics that increase sales revenues
  • Maintain and chart accurate records of activities & performances in Sales / Account Management System
  • Construct strategic sales and product knowledge to team members
  • Recommend product lines by identifying new product opportunities, surveying consumer needs and benchmarking against competitors
  • Liaise with Marketing, IT, Merchandising, CS departments and team members

Purchasing/Vendor Relations

  • Manage a fast-paced Team
  • Streamline accurate and effective order processing through our Vendors
  • Integration of vendor inventory using drop-shipment model
  • Establish, maintain and resolve all time sensitive issues
  • Ability to oversee 1,000+ orders daily

Logistics

  • Oversee a small warehouse
  • Be accountable for all domestic manufacturer vendor relationships
  • Control Shipping and Receiving; Domestic and International (FedEx, UPS and Freight)
  • Establish and maintain efficient processes
  • Streamline efficiencies and reporting

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (INCLUDING CERTIFICATIONS):

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required;
  • Business to Consumer (B to C) background (retail or e-tail) is a MUST;
  • Must have 5+ years related Director level experience or above, ideally at a known and/or high dollar volume company;
  • Strong IT background both driving and enhancing business processes/systems;
  • A consistent record of leading teams to exceed performance expectations;
  • Strong customer and people development skills;
  • Ability to train, coach and develop staff;
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent writing and analytical skills, with high standards for quality;
  • Work effectively both independently and as a member of a Team;
  • Use sound judgment to identify issues and escalate them when appropriate;
  • Ability to identify key structural process needs or gaps and provide appropriate improvements;
  • Able to establish project deadlines and organize activities to meet all deliverables;
  • Minor domestic travel required.
