Job Description

AutoAnything is looking for an experienced, battle-tested manager to drive our user experience. This position will play a critical role in ensuring AutoAnything delivers the ultimate customer experience for Automotive Parts & Accessories. You will define and manage the end-user experience and work closely with Merchandising, Marketing, and Engineering to ensure the end-to-end experience delights the end-user.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create Requirements Definitions
  • Co-ordinate Project Plans with PM
  • Design Information Architecture with Engineering
  • Create Storyboards & Wireframes
  • Setup Focus-groups for generating and incorporating user feedback
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing
  • Conduct Surveys and analyze user behavior using Omniture Site Catalyst and other tools to improve usability
  • Utilize A/B and multivariate testing to improve usability
  • Ownership of re-implementation of Omniture Site Catalyst
  • Produce Quantitative and Qualitative analysis to be utilized by marketing, merchandising, and engineering to improve agreed-upon KPI’s
  • Assist in definition of KPI’s

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of improving KPI’s for various companies utilizing Quantitative and Qualitative information
  • Highly motivated and possess a strong passion for technology
  • Able to operate effectively under tight deadlines
  • Experience in designing for enterprise web applications
  • Ability to conduct user research given the unique needs and constraints of the project
  • Expertise in task analysis, user interaction and user interface design
  • Ability to conduct usability tests, analyze results and apply to design
  • Ability to create clear, concise specifications from conceptual designs
  • Experience observing user research and/or translating user research into design decisions
  • Working familiarity with web design and HTML; technical understanding of web domain
  • Organized, independent and able to switch rapidly between different projects
  • Ability to develop and evolve long-term business strategies while consistently driving tactical projects
  • Ability to build relationships across stakeholder community; to influence, coordinate and negotiate within cross-functional teams across the organization
  • Ability to think creatively, innovate and develop new approaches to complex problems
  • Strong business acumen and an understanding of business processes
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Good meeting facilitation and presentation skills
  • Good negotiation and decision-making skills

Experience:

  • 7+ years of professional related experience
  • At least 2-3 years experience managing a team
  • Extensive experience developing consumer-centric user experiences
  • Expert knowledge of prototyping tools
  • Experience with Omniture Site Catalyst
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a variety of disciplines ranging from Marketing and Engineering team members to customers and strategic partners
  • Strong customer focus – passion for customers and unflinching desire to always do what’s right for them
  • Team player – inspires trust, leads by example, and contributes to others’ success
  • Limited business travel required (2-10 days/year)

Pluses:

  • An MS degree in Human Factors, cognitive psychology, technical communications, human-computer interaction, library science, graphic design, industrial design or a relevant field
  • Experience observing user research and/or translating user research into design decisions
  • Experience with AJAX, HTML, CSS
  • Experience with SCRUM or similar agile methodology
  • Experience with Endeca, Omniture Test & Target
  • Advanced knowledge of graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus
  • Automotive enthusiast or experience
