With no lip the mat fits flush with the back hatch threshold. The map is flexible so that access to the rear jack storage space is easy. The flexibility/softness makes the surface not very slippery, so items don't slide around. I am very pleased with this product,it solves my experienced problems.

This was my second purchase of a Rugged Ridge product and I continue to be pleased with the quality of the products. They are a good fit and good looking. Every bit as good as the more expensive options.
