"Pro: Installation was very easy as advertised. Con: One of the "S" clamp screws stripped and will not tighten. Not sure how, but the screws could be a little longer. Suggestion: I would suggest having one of the "S" clamp screws long enough to have a washer and nut so the strap on the stock gas cap can be attached to your door housing. Thanks...."

Great Product

"Very easy to install in my Jeep it only took four screws and literally 5 minutes to install. They even include the right screwdriver tip for the screws. My only complaint would be that it would be nice if the screws were of some kind of security design (security torx or hex) to make it more difficult for just anyone to remove."

"I installed this AMI fuel door in about 20 minutes on my Dodge Ram 1500. It fit perfectly! I bought it because I needed a locking gas cap and there are none to be found due to the price of gas these days. I love it!"

"With the recent prices of fuel, I was figuring that people would start stealing gas. So I purchased a locking style for my F250. Big trucks = big gas tanks. Within a week of installing my gas cap I saw 2 trucks in my neighborhood that had the gas door and cap just hanging out, obviously the tanks had been stolen from. At about $100.00 a fill up I figure it has already paid for itself, plus it is easy to install, and it looks great!"

Good overall expirence

"Tha manufacturer forgot to package a bracket when shipping my fuel door, but that was easily corrected with a phone call. Installation was pretty simple, I think removing the factory fuel door was more difficult than installing the new one. Overall, I am very pleased with this fuel door, it looks great on my truck and it will help protect my weekly investment in over priced gasoline!!"

"I really love it. It works well and fits so good that many think that the new truck came with it installed. The only thing that I would suggest to AMI is that they provide a small hole inside so that the plastic cord that connects to the gas cap can be connected so that you don't risk the chance of losing it."

Security Upgrade for Standard AMI Fuel Door

"I love the AMI fuel door however, I changed the standard 3/16 inch allen bolts with some T-30 Tamper-Resistant Torx bolts from McMaster-Carr. Nothing is full proof, but this added one more layer of protection over the standard allen tools that most people have."

"5 stars for looks, and simple installation. My son was shocked to find the fuel door on my car when he came over after work to install it for his mother.The hardest part of the installation was going to the hardware store and buying the hex wrench tool. I bought the locking fuel door, it looks great. When people comment on the fuel door (and they will)I always tell them I installed it all It really is simple!"

"I rated it 4 stars only because the lock isn't perfect. It looks great and the install was easy. The only draw back is the lock isn't precision measured enough. After much bending back and forth, I finally got it to lock, but it is a little more snug than I'd like. Should be more smooth, other than that, awesome product!"

"My door arrived in just two days and was on it 10 minutes. It looks great and several have said how well it complements the look of my Trailblazer. I spend a lot of time on the road, and in hotel parking lots. The locking door provides security against gas theives, I never had before. Great product. Great service in purchasing and delivering it."
