"1 - When they tell you to remove the pin, they should say to pry the spring assembly out.
2 - the holes in the adapter piece don't quite match the original holes, had to to some tweaking to get it to fit correctly.
3 - Getting the rubber gas cap tether in one of the threaded holes required working the the rubber tip with a dremel tool and then trying to screw it into the thread. Hope it stays in place."

"Installation was pretty easy. Instructions are kind of vague but once you look at the pieces you can figure it out.
The fuel door looks really good and I am happy with it.
Couple of features make it a little generic in my opinion.
The locking mechanism keeps the door from sitting totally flush so it "wiggles."
And I wish the whole fuel door was held in place by more than 2 screws."

"I am thoroughly disappointed with the fuel door I received. I have a friend with a GT Mustang, and I liked the looks of his. However I wanted a locking door. One of the cosmetic fasteners was so close to a stud, that I could not place the nut at its base per the instructions. I was also forced to use every #10 washer I had in my garage to shim it, along the spacers provided. My Mustang has a crease in the fender that runs thru the fuel door. On my friends GT the Fuel door matches it perfectly. The fuel door I purchased has a blend, no sharp crease, which is 1 inch lower on the front and 1-3/4 inch low on the back. This allows me to see the inside of the opening when looking down the line from the front. It looks like this fuel door is made to fit other cars besides the 2005-2008 Ford Mustang."

"I found the locking fuel door for my PT Cruiser to be of very good quality and looks great. Very easy to install, I did have to put on two lock clips that are for sheet metal screws because the ones supplied seemed to be a little small for the holes that they were to fit. But it was an easy fix. Great product."

"im pleased with this fuel door as it looks great, is well made, and was easy to install. the only tricky part on my dodge was getting the bottom right bolt in as there isnt much room to work with but it does go in after some careful placement :). Price could be a little lower but its lower than everyone else i found so hey cant complain to much"

"The AMI billet fuel door fits near perfectly on my 2008 Tundra.
The only 2 faults I can find are-
1. the threaded holes provided for you to screw your fuel cap retainer into are too small- you will either need to shave down the nub on the retainer to fit, or discard the cap retainer.
2. If you look really carefully, the profile of the fuel door is sunken in just slightly, and doesn't quite match the curve of the truck body. This is nitpicking though, you have to really look for it :)
Other than that, it fits great and is easy to install. Cheap price for peace of mind- it's not what can be taken out of the tank, but what can be put IN that you don't necessarily want!"

"It looks good on the truck and installation was easy. Once installed the added weight seems to make it look low in the fuel port. It is mounted to a plastic OEM hindge with no support device at the bottom of to keep it in alignment. Maybe a small tab or linier cam at the botton would improve the alignment."

"Fuel door construction and materials are outstanding, providing outstanding appearance and exceptional security of gas tank filler cap and neck. Look of chrome fuel door complements chrome bumpers, etc. Access to fuel tank filler neck is not impeded. I "improved" final appearance by using a series of spacer washers on mounting screws to effect a perfectly flush finished installation."

"Almost don't need the instructions. Fuel door is tough built. Helps to have magnet to pick up washers and nuts when you drop them inside the fuel door. Also helps to have small hands to hold nuts when you screw in the bolts. Make sure that you install over flat surface, in case you drop washers, spacers, etc. Its a pain to find in gravel."
