"As usual, AutoAnything rocks. I got a descent price and the product showed up within about 4 days of ordering. My only complaint is that the polishing was uneven and there was a dull spot right down the middle of the door. Also, the polishing compound residue got into the bolt holes, leaving them black on the inside with the ones you use to install the door clean. Nothing that can't be fixed, but pay the extra money and get chrome to save you the hassle. Installation was a breeze and it looks good other than what I mentioned above."

"I was very pleased with the quality and the easy installation. The only problem I had was that I needed to buy a special screw driver at a local parts store to remove the factory screws before I could install the new locking fuel door."

"I love the appearance of it, but the directions for installation did'nt help one bit. It was telling me I had to drill rivots out etc. & I didnt have any rivots to drill out. You MUST have some idea of what your doing to install correctly!"

"Just installed the AMI fuel door to my 2004 dodge ram 1500. It took about 20 minutes and was easy to install. You'll need a torks set to get the old fuel door off but you can get them at any hardware store for 10 bucks; plus they are good to have if you like to customize your truck."

"Good product overall, I got the locking one and its a bit of a pain in the a$$ having to unlock it with the key every time I fill up. However it prevents some punk from stealing my gas or putting something in my tank."

"The real easy part is the removal of the old door, of course you need a star bit to remove the door screws and flyers for the rubber bumpers. Then on the install you need a drill & 11/64 drill bit to make the hole larger where you took the door off and 9mm rench also metric allen rench the rest is a snap. It really is easy to install if you have the tools. Before you start look at what you need."

"Ordered polished aluminum looks like brushed aluminum. Door did not exactly fit centered, had to notch mounting holes on one side in order for it to center."

"The new locking fuel door did not line up straight with the existing holes from the original fuel door. This required drilling new holes to get the fuel door to set straight in the opening. It was also difficult to get the washers and nuts on in the tight space around the loosened shroud. Assembly difficulty aside, I thought the quality and appearance of the locking fuel door were excellent."

"Excellent add-on thus far, but a little touchy to install the right-hand side spacers/screws. Expensive, but hopefully it will last the life of my truck. Already leaps and bounds above the god-awful Bullet brand chrome-plated POS gas lid door I bought at Autozone that corroded and flaked after the first winter storm of the year. I'm happy overall."

"Installation was a breeze, took about ten minutes. Instructions were well written. Quality of product is top notch and the fit is perfect. Adds a unique look to my truck and the chrome finish matches my rims and nerf bars."

"overall very happy with product. install was a little tricky but theres really nothing that can be done to resolve that. my only complaint is that after my first fillup the door's spring loaded opener just stopped engaging. i know i installed it correctly and had opened and closed it many times prior to my first fillup. i haven't even bothered with fixing it yet- too busy! but this is not meant as a complaint, just an inconvenience. this fuel door looks great, now just find a way to cut out some cost!"

What a grind

"Everything was well constructed and made with quality materials. Had to grind down two washers so that the blots would go through the mounting holes. Funny thing was the other side of the washers had been ground to clear the door opening. Really like how it looks. 2005 Colorado."
