"I've been eyeballing this fuel door for a while. So when it went on sale, I jumped on it. The price was awesome! Makes my truck look custom and the locking door is very nice. A little piece of mind with today's diesel prices. Installation was straight forward but a bit of a pita getting it just right. The longest part of the install was drilling out the OEM door. Not for the faint of heart."

AMI Fuel Door, Chrome, Locking

"Fit and finish are excellent. Heavy chrome plating and all hardware are first rate. Excellent workmanship; part should give many years of good service. Looks like OEM equipment, but fuel door is heavy-duty throughout, not like other light-weight parts on the Tundra, many of which look good, but are plastic or thin plated metal. This part may well outlast our truck; and that's saying alot, considering the proven reliability of Toyotas. Only one minor problem - The longer mounting screws have smaller diameter threads than the original screws that they replaced. Consequently, one stripped out. It would have been helpful if AMI also provided new nylon captive nuts, instead of reusing the original part."

"Good looking door. I purchased it because we had been hit twice by gas theft. The 2nd time they broke a plastic locking gas cap off. Installation would have been easy if the shims that came with it were the right size and they had accounted for the metal lip inside on the right. I had to use my own shims and modify the catch on the lock. It looks great and works great now. This was on a 2006 Dodge Dakota."

"Well, it was a little difficult to install for me, simply because I didn't have the tool(s) I needed to complete the job, at first. Have to make sure you have a very small adjustable wrench to fit inside the hole to tighten the bolts on the right side, it will make a world of difference. Once it installed though, it makes your vehicle look a whole lot better, WOW, is how I would describe it, and my friends agree too."

"The all black Locking AMI Fuel Door I purchased for my 1995 Chevy K1500 Full-size pickup is great! It is very stylish, a flush tight fit on the body, and looks great on the truck. It is made from solid metal and is a quality product. Very easy to install. Anyone looking to steal gas won't likely mess with my truck. Winters get very cold here, so my only concern is that the lock or door might freeze up and be hard to open, but I just got it and haven't experienced that yet."

AMI FUEL DOOR- ROUGH EDGES

"Fuel door was received on time, actually a day before promised. It was easy enough to install, at least on my 2008 Dodge. It has some rough edges, maybe from grinder or was maybe previously sold, damaged and returned. If I had bought it at a retail store locally, I would have returned it, but it was not a big enough deal to pay return shipping Texas to California. I will be happy enough if it keeps people from tampering with my diesel."

"I was worried about this fuel door because I have a flareside and the original door has a slight contour in it. However, the AMI door matched perfectly. Install was very simple. All you really need is a small flat head screwdriver and some allen keys. Very sturdy, simple, and attractive. I recommmend it!"

"GREAT PRODUCT BUT THE EASY INSTALLATION IS NOT ACCURATE. TO PROPERLY INSTALL ON A 2005 EXPLORER REQUIRES YOU TO DRILL OUT TWO OF THE 4 PLASTIC ANCHOR ATTACHMENTS PREVIOUSLY USED TO ANCHOR THE ORIGINAL FUEL DOOR. NOT WHAT I EXPECTED, OR WHAT THE INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS STATED."

"The fuel door was my last resort as the locking gas caps just did not work. It would be nice if the vehicle manufacturers would have this standard on all vehicles. with the price of fuel, this is a deterrent. However there are those that will puncture a gas tank and drain the fuel from the tank directly. Now someone has to come up with a metal armor to protect the fuel tank."
