"The all black Locking AMI Fuel Door I purchased for my 1995 Chevy K1500 Full-size pickup is great! It is very stylish, a flush tight fit on the body, and looks great on the truck.
It is made from solid metal and is a quality product. Very easy to install.
Anyone looking to steal gas won't likely mess with my truck.
Winters get very cold here, so my only concern is that the lock or door might freeze up and be hard to open, but I just got it and haven't experienced that yet."

"Fuel door was received on time, actually a day before promised. It was easy enough to install, at least on my 2008 Dodge. It has some rough edges, maybe from grinder or was maybe previously sold, damaged and returned. If I had bought it at a retail store locally, I would have returned it, but it was not a big enough deal to pay return shipping Texas to California. I will be happy enough if it keeps people from tampering with my diesel."

"I was worried about this fuel door because I have a flareside and the original door has a slight contour in it. However, the AMI door matched perfectly. Install was very simple. All you really need is a small flat head screwdriver and some allen keys. Very sturdy, simple, and attractive. I recommmend it!"

"GREAT PRODUCT BUT THE EASY INSTALLATION IS NOT ACCURATE. TO PROPERLY INSTALL ON A 2005 EXPLORER REQUIRES YOU TO DRILL OUT TWO OF THE 4 PLASTIC ANCHOR ATTACHMENTS PREVIOUSLY USED TO ANCHOR THE ORIGINAL FUEL DOOR. NOT WHAT I EXPECTED, OR WHAT THE INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS STATED."

"The fuel door was my last resort as the locking gas caps just did not work. It would be nice if the vehicle manufacturers would have this standard on all vehicles. with the price of fuel, this is a deterrent. However there are those that will puncture a gas tank and drain the fuel from the tank directly. Now someone has to come up with a metal armor to protect the fuel tank."

"This is a great looking product for a fair price. The installation was very easy, as the instructions were dead on. I bought the locking chrome and black version, and it looks great on my truck. My only complaint is that the provided screws for the locking doors should be made tamper-resistent instead of standard allen heads. For the price paid for this door, the screws should be better. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase."

Machine Threads VS Sheet metal Screws

"The two Machine screws supplied with the new door are to be used in the same holes and nylon captive nuts the original sheet metal thread screws came out of the door hinge area. The threads are already buggered up by the sheet metal screws so when you go to install the new machine screws they are going into the threaded parts the sheet metals screws came out of.....thus you can't tighten the two machine screws as tight as the others in the kit. Wants to strip. Overall a good product. It's got to function properly as well as look good though."

"Fuel door looks great, I have the black lockable one on a 2001 Dodge.
It took about 20 minutes to fit, unwrapping and reading the instructions took longer, you only need a 3/16 allen wrench and a 7/16 box end.
great deal."
