Item showed up very promptly (2 days) and only took me about twenty minutes to install. Make sure you have the proper tools though. All in all I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quality addition to their truck. Also, looks much cleaner than the cheap stick on gas doors.

The fuel door is high quality but the instructions could use some work, also had to bend the inside bracket to fit. Could not use the washers provided would not fit in factory openings.

Only took 20 minutes to install. Directions were very clear. Product is textured black, which really looks awesome! It also came with 4 spare keys. Very happy with this purchase.

The cover looks great on my truck and matches my bushwackers however the install on a 2004 F-150 is a huge pain. Don't get me wrong it's a very simple idea just nearly impossible to get you're hand back behind gas cap. But after getting it in there it does look great and the locking mechanism works well and came with 4 keys so over all I'm satisfied.

Does the door have to be locked each time to remain closed. I do not want to have to use the key all the time.I would only use the key when away like at hotels.
Answered by Nathan S. — Apr 01, 2013 9:28 AM
Hi, Unfortunately, the key has to be used.

The picture is of a black fuel door but it doesn't say anything about color in the description. I'm looking for a black one and this would be perfect. So is this black? Thanks
Answered by Michael K. — May 23, 2012 6:55 PM
Hey Paul, yes, it is black with stainless steel hardware.
