AMI Fuel Door Part #6058CL Customer Reviews
Reviewed by Dan E (KENNEWICK, WA) Reviewed for a 2012 Ford F-350 — Jul 14, 2013 10:32 AM
Went together fairly quickly except for the bottom right mounting bolt, the bolt is almost to long as it hits the sheet metal when the door is fully set into position. You have to start the nut before setting the door to the final position or you won't be able to start the nut. Also it would be real easy for the manufacture to add a clip or hardware for the fuel cap retainer strap.

needed to dril two mounting holes and bend up bottom right stud up to enable nut to get on stud,it would be a lot easier if they would use a slide on nut that crimps on the threads of the stud, also put in a rubber bumper to keep door rattle free. the finish on the product is excellent.

The installion -includes factory door removal- took less than 30 minutes. I was able to use existing mounting holes -no drilling involved- and I was able to easily secure the factory diesel cap to one of the mounting bolts. The AMI Fuel Door fits properly and it provides secure access to the diesel fuel and diesel exhaust flud filler necks. The AMI Fuel Door is solid door. The four mounting bolts included with the door lid do the job with careful installation. The backing plate could easily break if bolts are over tightened and/or forced to fit/match Ford's factory pre-drilled holes by someone not familier with such installations. One minor concern involces the overall appearance. When looking at the installed fuel door -from any angle- the large flat surface of the bright chrome door is "wavey" and not flat. I would buy again.

It was relatively easy to install. On the 2012 F350 that I was installing it on the lower right screw has a bit too long and I had to drill out the holes where the old rubber stops were removed.
