Description

Whether you like to motor with the throttle open, charge up the mountains with toys in-tow or tour the land in an RV, keeping transmission temps low is a big deal. Leave it to a company with a rich history of performance like B&M to make the key to longer transmission life: the B&M SuperCooler Automatic Transmission Cooler.

Unlike standard coolers, B&M SuperCoolers use a stamped plate design. It’s a more efficient way to drop fluid temps. And, when teamed with B&M’s 100% aluminum crafting, it makes one of the toughest cooling units on the road.

As an added bonus for driving in colder areas, B&M SuperCoolers come equipped with a Low Pressure Drop mechanism. This clever piece of engineering lets already chilled fluid bypass the cooler, ensuring your transmission always has enough. As heat rises, more fluid enters the cooler.

B&M even includes a full installation kit and backs your SuperCooler with a 1-year warranty. So go ahead—your transmission will thank you.

Notes

  • B&M offers a 1-year warranty against defect on their coolers. This warranty does not cover damage caused by improper use or installation, and does not apply if used for racing.

"I've search high & low for a really good Transmission Oil Cooler. Found a lot that were just a tube with fins for my car. But heard that B&M have really great products. So I Decide to try this cooler after reading about it. Came with what seems like enough hadware to install it without a problem, didn't use any of them (except for the metal pieces that came with it) due to the fact that I made my own bracket for it, so installation took me a bit longer (something I had plained on doing before I've gotten the Cooler). The design of the cooler looks very sufficient for cooling as well. It's been 2 weeks since I installed it & had a really good test drive yesterday with it. My transmission fluid didn't overheat & no little rough down shifts ether. Have notice a smoother shifting & crusing without pressing the gas has become better as well. So, so far it is working excellet."

"Trans cooler comes with everything you need to mount. I made my own bracket which made the install take a bit longer, but still not too much of a hassle. Trans temp dropped noticeably, and the cooler looks great!"

Dan's supercooler review

Posted on 10/25/2007 by Daniel S. - 1997 Honda CRV (Lake Ariel,PA)

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful.

"The cooler was a bit of a challenge to install in my wife's 97 Honda CRV because of limited space, but thanks to a handy vertical brace and some of the goodies that were included in the installation kit, I mounted it to the brace, and it's right out in the air stream. We will be pulling a trailer to Florida in a couple of months which is the reason I installed the cooler. I'm sure it's going to work very well. It even looks good sitting in there. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the cooler and the mounting kit."

"Installation as expected with tight spaces. My main beef was the supplied fittings with the product did not fit my application. I had to special order fittings for the 95 ford ranger radiator, not cheap and added days to the project."

Smoother Shifts

Posted on 03/29/2007 by Mcclaren J. (Mechanicsville,VA)

"Product was everything I expected. Installation was easy and straight forward, although depending on where you place it and your make of car I reccommend buying extra transmission hose ahead of time. The hose provided just isn't enough. Since installation I have noticed smoother shifts, and less jerkyness."

B&M Super Cooler for '98 Mazda 626

Posted on 11/22/2006 by Charles O. (Murfreesboro,TN)

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful.

"I had my mechanic install 2 small 9800 BTU units in line with the sides facing down on the front of the Mazda radiator. There was plenty of room, and this allows more efficient cooling on the 626 which has a HX of running hot. It works very well and gives maximum cooling. With an external filter and tranny oil changes at every 12,000 MI I feel my new tranny is good to go for many yrs. Thanks B&M for this great cooler and good tech support."
