Sherwood Factory Match Dash Kits Reviews

Lexus GS 300 Factory Match

Reviewed By James B (HUBERT, NC) Reviewed for a 1999 Lexus GS 300 —7/27/2014 2:57 PM

The cars original wood trim had separated from the extreme heat and UV damage, essentially destroying any resale value. The trim kit was an identical match to the factory, cut to the exact same precision. Application is straight forward, although not for the heavy handed or impatient. The 3m backing, is an immediate and strong bond. The outcome was so dramatic that I went from plans to trade the car in to opting to keep the car for a few more years. Amazing "Bang for the Buck"

Good kit, although simulated kit not as sharp as authentic kit

Reviewed By Keith W (Las Vegas, NV) Reviewed for a 2003 Lexus IS 300 —10/22/2008 1:11 AM

With all of these kits, I recommend experimenting with which pieces you'd like to install. Installing all of them would look overdone. I previously (5 yrs ago) installed a Sherwood kit with the real wood. It looked fabulous but over time (~4 years) the wood started to separate from the acrylic coating. So I recently replaced with the simulated wood kit. It's cheaper and I'm hoping it will last longer, but it doesn't look as real as the authentic kit.

Nice, but plastic, and not real wood.

Reviewed By Sheri H (PHOENIX, AZ) Reviewed for a 1996 Mazda Miata/MX-5 —3/17/2015 8:48 PM

I removed real wood to install this kit. It's nice, compared to most cars. But it's not quite as pretty as real wood. I may have my wood refinished and then reinstall it. It's so old that this might not be an option. And real wood might be too expensive. For the cost, this is at least a great interim solution.
